GAME DAY - Round 11

Prepared myself for a loss today so the win feels even better.

Hoping for the best... Preparing for the worst

Would have thought this was the default weekly ritual for us all !!

Yes BB u can say that again!

Not confident.

This ground just doesn't work for us.

We need TMac to have a blinder, the midfield to at least break even and for Hogan/Garlett/Howe to have a big impact.

WOW. Both Stretch and ANB start on the ground.

A vote of confidence in the young lads!

Hope they have fun, listen to the coaches  and have really good games.

Yes! Full game for ANB!

Collingwood making our form last week look pretty good, must win today!

The last 5 times I've been to this [censored] hole I vowed never to be back again especially if we lost.. Today is the last chance I give this joint

At least until our next game there.

I will never understand the management at this pathetic excuse of a ground

Level 1 is empty but they make everyone sit up in the heavens.

Great for atmosphere.

I loath this ground!

Noticed that on TV, looks bizarre.

That's surprising, the ticketing bloke offered a mate of mine tickets on level one for the same price as GA when we came in

Is Riley in?? Seem to recall him being in the 22 !?

God these clash jumpers are friggin bonkers!! We look closer to the saints jumper than ever!!!...

Best part is some saints supporters in front of me bought reserve tickets for level 3.

I'd like to see us throttle these other sub par sides.

Never really seems to happen, I guess both sides are growing.

We seem to of been growing since Bruce and Green were kids.

Haven't been to Etihad for years. At Flinders Steet and really worried

Has Hogan ever not kicked a goal in the first!! 5 today!!!

is Hogan injured ? why run to the bench after the first 40 seconds if he is not

already sounds like theres more Saints fans then Dees.. WTF

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
