Carlscum will pull out of this terminal nose dive

I still wonder whether the MFC will.

After 2 seasons with Roos the club still looks dead onfieild

How hard can it be flogged before a sign of life appears?

Here is a number for you to ring seems you need it, you post the same thing time and time again Call us 1300 22 4636 hope they help.

actually it's the playing list who keep playing the same way.

Losing by 17 goals is an averae week for us over the last 10 seasons

This also relates to why Carlton may have been given so many friday night games. Not so long ago their forward line was an exciting party for the spectators of BOTH sides, and you could never quite predict how a game would turn out. We all know that TV executives and AFL House are generally at least a year or two behind reality.

Also, the Carlton board have connections, y'know.

Along with all the friday night games their draw in the first part has been highly winnable games.

All stage managed to get them off to a fantastic start. Fill the coffers etc

The opposite to us but then I'm just jealous.

They have come down with a thud and now the day of reckoning arrives:

They are yet to play the top 8 and the contenders for the top 8.

A world of pain is yet to come their way.

Re Carlton board connections, I assume you mean the AFL variety rather than shady ones with persuasive means, that lurk around its neighbourhood! :o

So many threads this could go on!...

Overheard in my local shops this morning:

"Just you wait. It always happens to Melbourne. He'll be sacked the week they're playing us so it'll be the fired up first up win for the caretaker situation."

Note:

  • Trigg last night: "We've always said we'll review it in the second half of the season";
  • They have Brisbane in Brisbane the week before..........

(Needs emoticon - not sure which!)

Remember when Ratten was sacked and Roosy knocked back $1m a year to coach at Carlton? He then joined us a year later. Why? Because Roos knew Carlton's vision of winning a flag in under 3 years on the back of signing a gun coach was an impossible task. He knew it wouldn't be achieved and his legendary reputation might take a hit as a result. He joined us a year later because all he needed to was get Melbourne competitive again which he is well on the way to doing (despite a rocky past month). Malthouse's ego got the better of him so he took the Carlton job and here we are, with him set to bow out on a very low note.

I doubt either of them expected Carlton's plight to be this bad, but Roos made a good career decision and Malthouse a poor one. It doesn't make Mick any less of a coach, it's not like he's forgotten how to do it all of a sudden. It's also further proof that a head coach really isn't as important as people think they are.

Bryce Gibbs is responsible.

Along with Judd who commands too much money from the purse.

Sacking Waite and Garlett was just dumb.

I hope the media continue to vulture around.

It's great stuff.

Murph needs a change of scenery-

Board , coach and players all shaky.

Good times.

As for connections, aren't they much the same? There are an awful lot of shadows, nooks and crannies around [censored] stadium.

Their real malaise only kicked in AFTER the win over the Saints, oddly enough.

The loss to the almost as troubled, but at least fighting, Brisbane is the only game since then that they've been within 12 goals of their opponent.

Carlton have had the eagles, bombers and magpies, each of which is hard to rate at the moment but I think your point stands that they haven't played any truly 'deadly' teams yet.

Speaking of which, I expect to be at the Swans/Carlton game up here at the SCG next weekend. And I'll say this honestly; it could be 186 territory.

Kennedy, Parker, Hanneberry, Mitchell and Jack will obliterate Carlton in the clearances and none of them ever, ever stop. The Blues have nobody at all who can match up on either of Franklin or Tippet while Carlton's forward line will be well covered by the low-key but effective Sydney defenders.

Going in without hope, with the club bitterly at war with itself and a coach clearly on the edge of resigning/being sacked, against an opponent on a small ground with a meaningful home-ground advantage, a parochial crowd and something to prove after recently letting a game unexpectedly slip... ugly ugly stuff.

Both clubs have serious attitude problems onfield right now.

The Demons better win for The Rev tomorrow....

I would have said 'stuff that WYL, they should win for themselves', but clearly they take no pride in their performances or give a rat's arse, if our last 3 games are anything to go by.

It's as if most of them are surprised or bewildered that they are required to put in more than 50% effort to get close to winning a game of footy. The nerve!

I was curious as to why Fremantle fans hated Scwabb, so I asked them. Here is a thread from 2012.

Cameron Schwab - Why the hate?

Interesting comments there UTAH. It appears many believe Schwab was a good business manager but got too involved in the Freo football department, even overseeing many trades and coach selection.

Also, I had forgotten about the $140k loan we did to help him with real estate. Regardless of it being on commercial terms or not, personal loans are not what we are on about, particularly as we had just climbed out of a multi million dollar hole ourselves. Incredible conflict of interest.

Worth every penny.

1. Who will coach Carlton next week?

2. Who will coach Carlton in July 2015?

3. Who will coach Carlton in 2016?

QD

Don't care!

Just hope they keep away from McCartney!

He has a great reputation as a development coach and that is what they need.

But so do we!

Silvagni was spotted having coffee with Simon Goodwin this week.

From that I would deduce that we're interested in SOS for some reason or a deal with a player.

"I feel really bad for Mick Malthouse. He just seems like such a good bloke." - No one ever.

I reckon the Tigers are working quietly behind the scenes.

You mean to dump Hardwick for Malthouse? What's the relevance?

Comedy for the rest of us.

More to the point WHO THE FU@K CARES.

I think worsfold or guy McKenna but I'd like to see Neil Craig get another go

You mean to dump Hardwick for Malthouse? What's the relevance?

The relevance is we're discussing who might take the reins at Carlton. If they are sitting back thinking its a choice between Woosha and Bomber they might get trumped by the Tigers. Bomber might have had enough and Woosha goes to Tigerland. Hardwick in his sixth year of a 14 year plan.

I'm amazed that any Melbourne supporter could have the slightest bit of sympathy for Carlton. They snatched Barras and Wellsy and spent 40 years buying premierships by raping poor clubs (us, St. Kilda) and putting thugs onto the field (Rys-Jones, Williams, Fitzpatrick, Walls, Big Nic, Vin Waite, Buckley, I could go on . . . ). They are arrogant and delusional (1990's attempting to buy Norff, 2012 - "they know we're coming") egomaniacs (Harris and Elliot) and proven draft and salary caps cheats. As far as I'm concerned they can rot on the bottom of the ladder for ever more.

Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
