Pity we lost Paul Kelly to Adelaide. He wrote a series of excellent articles for the Age during the 87 finals run that really described the euphoria, until that game at Waverly of course.

Dennis Cometti has occasionally let slip that the Dees have always been his sentimental favorites

Not sure about Jesse but Ella definitely is.

Don't care about Jesse.

Ella's the one we want.

The one I want anyhoo ;)

Another couple of musos:

Bruce Woodley - The Seekers (have seen him in the Members at the G donned in a Dees scarf)

Jim Keays - The Masters Apprentices (R.I.P. Also saw him at games in our colours)

You can add Daniel Ricciardo to the West Coast Eagles and is also the current #1 ticket holder.

Mysty Hymen=carlton

Why does anyone really care ?

You beat me to the punch...was going to post but cared so little that I didn't.

Since when is Joffa considered a celebrity????

Or human?

I've heard John Travolta is a real Melbourne man but he doesn't really come out to games because he prefers to keep it a secret.

Beware of fake celebrity supporters.

In the UK, the PM David Cameron was giving a televised speech and urged people to support West Ham. Unfortunately he's an Aston Villa man.

This was his explanation for the mix-up, and it's not particularly coherent:

“I want to say how sorry I am.

"All I can explain is I went past the West Ham stadium the day before and I just said the word West Indies in my speech and I was making a point about the cricket Test and all the rest of it.

“I meant to say Aston Villa and I am profoundly embarrassed.”

Richard Di Natale (news Greens leader) is a Richmond [censored].

Makes my face screw up to see that ratbag Murdoch as a supporter. He is the biggest cheese in controlling world sport but has done bugger all for us as far as I can tell. Shameless meddler only interested in power and making more money. If one deserves a punch in the nose for getting into people's space it is him.

Probably the most evil person in the Western world. Not joking

Daniel Andrews (Vic Premier) and Linda Dessau (about to be Vic Governor) - Essendon

Ross Stevenson (radio announcer) and John Silvester (aka 'Sly of the Underworld') - Hawthorn

Mick Gatto and the late Alphonse Gangitano - Carlton (what more needs to be said?)

Diane ('DD') Dunleavy (radio announcer) - St Kilda

I support Melbourne but on field performances and a persecution complex caused by Demonland posters has me wavering.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
