Richmond game - early 90s we beat Pies and Dons in a row. Not sure that was their GF year, but both were flying like us.

Nek minit   - Swans in Sydney, lost 22 straight. Game Osborne convulsed onfield.

Don’t  disbelieve my MFCSS

Now I think of a Viney foot tap to Jackson  or a Harmes pass to Fritta or a TMac goal

❤️💙🏆

Most of those are borderline ridiculous and beyond my caring. Not like 57 years.

Not beating North Melbourne at least once at Marvel in the stadium's 21 year existence not raise your eyebrow?

This one is crazy, but also has a lot to do with not playing Norf at Marvel in the last few years.

We went through a good decade where we couldn't buy a win there, and now we rarely lose in that hole of a ground.

You've obviously never been teased by a Sydney supporter over the fact that we haven't beaten them on a Sunday at the MCG since 2001.

My non-MFC  mates rib me about that one all the time, and they're not going to stop regardless of how many flags we win.

I cop it continually from my work colleagues that we’ve never beaten Hawthorn in the 4:35pm time slot.

Maybe this year might finally be that year.

Round 3 2022

I'm taking it one week at a time. 😜

In the past decade I think we've only had 2 home games against the bombers.

Getting shunted yearly across the Tasman definitely has not helped that record.

From 2006-2021 we’ve hosted Essendon twice. 2010 and 2019 were those years.

The reason doesn’t make sense but I recall about 5-10 years ago an MCC spokesman confirmed on radio that the MCC requested to the AFL that Melbourne plays away games to Essendon and Carlton at the MCG and therefore increasing the chances we’d miss out on home games against those 2 clubs.

I'm sure the body of water between mainland Australia and Tasmania is the Tasman sea too but they may as well send us to NZ.

That makes no sense considering we would want home games occasionally against those teams for the gate takings.

It's not as if it saves us from having to play 6 games interstate a year.

I always assume we played Essendon as the away team because they never (or rarely) forced Essendon to don their away guernsey and it was easier to shaft us and make us play in the Bali tops.

Just a few obvious ones that come to mind:

2) Haven't beaten Brisbane on a Friday night in QLD since the Bears inception in 1987.

3) Haven't beaten Carlton in a home MCG game on a Saturday since 1997.

4) Haven't beaten Collingwood on an MCG Q'Bday game since 2017

5) Haven't beat Essendon in a home game since 2010

6) Haven't beaten Freo in WA since 2004

8) Haven't beaten Gold Coast on a Sunday game since 2018

9) Haven't beaten Geelong in Geelong on a Saturday in a non COVID affected year since 2005

10) Have never beaten Hawthorn in a Saturday or Sunday twilight game.

11) Have never beaten North at Marvel

12) Haven't beaten Port in consecutive attempts  in Adelaide.

13) Haven't beaten Richmond in an away game since 2015

14) Haven't beaten St Kilda at the MCG since 2017. Have never beaten them at the MCG in the 1:10pm slot.

15) Haven't beaten Sydney on a Sunday at the MCG since 2001

16) Haven't beaten West Coast on a traditional Fri/Sat/Sun game in Perth since 2017

17) Have never beaten the Dogs on a Friday night at the MCG.

It was the Melbourne Cricket Club, not us as a club that requested that Melbourne plays Essendon as an away game at the MCG.

Apparently the MCC also compiles and lodges a fixture request list with the AFL.

I think the one embarrassment we will struggle with from now on is beating West Coast in a lightning interfered match.

I remember an AFL or MFC person also saying a number of years ago that we get Essendon away because we get Collingwood home each year. Now that we share the gate with Collingwood and Richmond it's more likely we'll get Carlton/Essendon home games every other year.

That's crazy talk, the only one that stands out that annoys the [censored] out of me is the North at Marvel.

Wouldn't mind beating Port twice in a row in Adelaide to really stick it right up em for the years of torment.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
