POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 2, 2015

Featured Replies

I will say this -

I refuse to let this footy club continually pizz me off on the weekend. You work hard during the week and look forward to relaxing and watching the footy and then they dish up these type of performances time and time again.

5 min into the last qtr for the first time I had enough and took my boys to the park instead of watching another pathetic effort.

The park was great much more fun than the alternative.

I have had enough of wasting my time when they turn on performances like today (and the last 8 yrs).

It's really disappointing that we continually dish this up.

There has to be a point when it has to stop but unfortunately it seems along way off still.

When the physical heat came to us we crumbled... Just like the NAB game against the dogs. Last week GC came at us but we weren't physically tested, just tested on the scoreboard. Blind Freddy could have seen that GWS were going to come out breathing fire and we just stood by an accepted it. I had a feeling at half time the Giants would come but did not expect the avalanche in which it happened.. Leaders didnt stand up but as I said I think Jones was carrying something. Dawes doesn't hold enough marks, or any for a matter if fact. Look at the difference between him and hogan. Kents missed goal in the 3rd from that behind the ball free really hurt, could have steemed the flow a bit

If you are not angry tonight then you are forever accepting nothing

33 points up and the players went soft upstairs

That is why I am angry...

You are not alone SWYL!! I'm so mad... MAD i tell yeh! And Roosey will be too... this is him heading to the presser now! >>>>>

It's not that we lose.

It's how we lose.

Disgraceful.

Mentally Soft...it's still there...i thought it had been cleared out

Wrong.

F#$%&CK

Yep, I knew they would come out firing and perhaps even get on top, but I wasn't expecting what happened and it was so disappointing to see when we all thought we were past these insipid performances.

I could run thought 16 or 17 of the 22 that just rolled over. Devastating performance.

I actually don't even care, strange really. Have just decided I'm not going to do this to myself anymore.

I'll check the scores occasionally but not going to put other things off or turn other offers down to watch the MFC anymore.

I'll double my efforts on my HK Panno this winter....get it ready for trip to the coast in the summer :)

have just got back to my hotel after coming up for the game and oh my god what the hell happened after half time? Did gws take something. Seriously they just came out and looked so much faster. The first half was great but the next half was just a diaster. Our leaders went missing when they were coming back at us and we just could not get our hands on the ball or out of the middle.

I thought with the 2 changes this week our team looked better, but Dawes did nothing, that was the worst game Ive ever seen jones play and even Herieter was fumbling the ball. Im not sure what changes to make because I feel whoever will be bought in wont really help us as they arent that great apart from grimes. I thought we had our best team in today.

I actually fear what adelaide will do to us next week.

On another side less improtant note the giants fans actually appluaded when they hit the 100 point score. serously whats with that.

Who was the dropkick who said opposition feard Dawes!?

FMD

You actually have no idea. wow. He regularly throws his weight around, bumping, harassing, yapping etc. Have you actually watched him play?

Yes he has done some dirty things, but to say that the opposition wouldn't fear him if they see him coming, OR standing in front to block etc. is just so so dumb.

I'm shocked by how stupid you are. You CLEARLY have never seen him play, so here you go:

Sorry to have to do this to you Song...

Get the players to pay for your travel costs...You shouldn't have to

Sorry to have to do this to you Song...

Do you actually think Hogan would have done so well if Dawes wasn't there to stop him from being double teamed, taking another opponent etc.? I agree he did [censored] all around the ground, but there are other roles a forward play which help other forwards excel. Come on.

You're better than this MS.

Nah, I'm a local.

Lucky...The club should be billed for all supporters travel costs

It is pathetic that members of this team are paid $200-300,000 per year and can dish up that sh!t

How the [censored] are we paying 100% of our salary cap. Let's hope Jones isn't slacking off now that he got his lucrative contract

34 years of consecutive membership for what?

Can't travel. Got too warm. Sun got in my eyes. Tired from last week. Casino's looking good. Who cares - I'll still earn my $450,000 contract.

They still haven't sent me my membership card. I joined in September. The other 4 members of my family refuse to join again.

On another side less improtant note the giants fans actually appluaded when they hit the 100 point score. serously whats with that.

Ha! Yep, they cheered a behind cause they cracked 100 points...... Amateurs.

OMG, what a f#4#5^ng surprise... free kicks 28 to 18 against us!

Lets not pretend that it would have made much of a difference.

We lost the battle in the midfield.

We are further off the mark then we were in the Bailey era....we are falling deeper and deeper into a hole

Dawes is useful for giving the forward line structure and yes he chases and puts on pressure but he is on $500k a year. At that price tag he needs to be a marking power forward who more importantly then any other forward line roles, needs to kick some bloody goals.

Port have turned it around, so has GWS, GC, Bulldogs and Brisbane since we started bottoming out.

Did you think all this was going to happen overnight?

Don't be delusional SWYL....we still have a coupe of years of development left yet before performances become competitive and consistent.

Was at the game. I had been willing to give Dawes the benefit of the doubt up until today. He played half the game pretty much in front of me. His skills are below par but most critically, is his poor ability to read the fall of the ball. Time and again he was out of position - but worse still, often pushed away/off from the ball by smaller more agile opponents. His seconds efforts don't have any impact on the contest and he often looses his feet. We're probably paying him 500k a year. Remarkable gig if you can get it.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
