Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Faultless yesterday.

Tall and quick.

Disposal ugly but effective.

Could prove to be the next Dustin Fletcher.

Tom's last line spoil on Tomlinson was executed to perfection. They just don't come any better!

Rd 2: McDonald's superb last-line spoil

That was superb. Absolutely perfect timing and commitment.

In the short interview with Matt Burgan his awareness and analysis of the loss were very astute. While his kicking may be flawed, so much of his game has been first rate so far this year. A future leader for sure.

One of my favourites, but I've always been biased in favour of unobtrusive - get the job done backmen.

I think Tommy has improved in all facets of his game this year. We know his disposal and decision making at times aren't elite, but he's playing the percentages so well now and playing within his limitations, I think that's benefited his confidence because while his making and spoiling have been his strengths (along with his speed) he's taken that to an even higher level this year. His improvement has helped both Dunn and Garland in their roles too (though Dunny was outpointed against the Giants) hopefully along with Salem and Jetta we're building a solid and dependable back 6.

He did have 2 terrible play ons though. One in the 1st quarter, one in the last. It's not his go and it's a silly silly decision. I'm all for guys running the lines and joining in the attack but you don't start the attack if you don't have the skills for it.

Turnovers under big pressure are the fault of the teams for not provide the pressure relief. Turnovers when you've taken a mark at half back and decide to play on with an opponent right on you or decide to dance round the man on the mark are on you.

We've got Howe, Salem, Lumumba even Dunn, Jetta and Garland to be creative from half back. Tommy Mc just needs to play within himself now.

But you've never liked him. To point out a couple of mistakes in an otherwise exceptional game is mindboggling.

Overrating an All Australian who kicked 4 goals on the weekend, interesting.

Playing him on defensive forward would be useless? He would treat that defensive forward the same way as he treated Smith and Gorringe as the defensive forward wouldn't be able to compete with him in the air.

Why are you disregarding Dunn playing on Cameron? Don't you rate him as a key defender?

Did you hear Paul Roos press conference in which he said that he encourages Tmac to play both way football. Not only that but I think is clear from the weekend that your alleged knowledge on football is questionable and your grasp on the current state of football is poor.

That said, keep on keeping on fella. Eventually even a blind player throwing darts can hit the board

I won't go around in circles but what does that sentence got to do with anything I said? As usual you are not making sense.

Favourite player Bail hey. You keep high standards there. VFL fan are you? And my football knowledge is poor.

You made a statement about how Tom McDonald would not be able to maintain his style of play whilst playing on Jeremy Cameron as he would get "destroyed" and also made claims of his best match up being Rhys Palmer. But as I was explaining to you earlier, he would have been encouraged to take the game on and continue to provide an offensive output whilst playing on Cameron and did so successfully.

To be fair player bias has nothing to do with football knowledge, but good by you, clearly related to the statements made about Tom McDonald and the matchups/style of play for this weekend.

I don't care if you want to personally attack another poster and just for the record I don't think many round here rate your football knowledge. You're certainly not a "must read".

But to attack a player so as to score petty points against another poster who probably doesn't rate your opinion anyway is tasteless in the extreme and show you to be a person of both limited judgment and maturity.

Ro Bail is one of my favourite players. I know him and his father. Both are terrific people. Ro has put his head over the ball so often for his club that he's one serious knock away from never being able to play footy again at any level. I happen to admire his courage. I admire his athleticism. I admire his discipline and application. He's not someone to build a team around but he's someone that the players are happy to play beside because they know he'll play his role to the best of his ability and get the most he can out of himself. As a person he makes you look silly.

How about next time you want to score points against another poster you don't do it by way of denigrating a player who represents our club. Even better, how about you grow up and if you can't do that, just shut up.

Are you serious?

My attack was that he is a VFL standard player. OOH that's nasty.

It's nice that your sticking up for your son and all but don't you think your going over the top?

When the next poster posts that Dawes, McKenzie, M.Jones etc are not up to AFL standard or Toumpas and Watts should be traded I'm expecting the same response that you have given me, I mean it's only fair or is it a leave my poor boy alone scenario? Seriously my heart bleeds.

I just find it amusing when the club has Nate.Jones, Hogan and another 20 players that get a game ahead of Bail someone would choose Bail as their favourite player. A favourite player is usually your idol, someone you specifically want to see play and for me it definitely isn't Bail unless your a fan boy or a family member.

Your so called attack wasn't about points scoring, trying to be popular or respected it was just an opinion\observation. I only come on here to have an opinion (I like talking football) I don't care about the other rubbish.

Attack posters but not players? Ridiculous. Is this a football forum or a who can attack someone the best forum?

You or anyone else can come after me just don't expect me to allow you to walk over me, it's not my style.

Really?

I already posted my response on another thread not sure if you read it and I really don't care but this is a down and out lie just to suit your argument.

I joined Demonland in 2006 because I'm a Demon tragic and couldn't get enough footy talk. I'm reading it less and less because posters attack each other with a ferocity that they would probably never display in a face to face exchange. Can't people agree to disagree respectfully without attacking each other's character and puffing their own chests out?

What's the lol for?

My point is you play McDonald on Cameron you lose the drive he created last week, he has to show Cameron respect. He can't do what he did to Smith and Gorringe on Cameron he will destroy him.

Anyway, I dont follow your posts and see where you post in order to check out your opinion I only stumbled upon it earlier in the week and to be honest you should stop making a fool of yourself.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
