Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The AFL is one of the most corrupt organisations: Discuss

A family was having a chat to dr Reid and of course the discussion was on the EFC drug scandal. One of the topics brought up was the rest of the competition using the exact same drugs. He mentioned that MFC even using dank but as the AFL were in damage mode after EFC self report they swept it under the carpet. The main difference between the rest of the AFL and EFC was the injections weren't brought in house but the players advised that a certain person (dank in mfc case) could provide benefits from supplements. The players could attend of there own free will even though 20 may have attended on the same arvo it wasn't co ordinated by the club.

Now it's easy to shoot the messenger as we don't want to be involved in it but I doesn't surprise me nor does the cover up. If mfc were under investigation and the information in the article below was out there I would have no issue thinking we were guilty like EFC. Trent Croad was a salesman for these supplements and he didn't find them away from football.

Text messages reveal Dank involved with Demons

I have no issue believing this as the AFL did the exact same thing the Melbourne with tanking. Whilst it was obvious that it had been happening for years and many clubs were involved by investigating and charging one they are able to close the issue and say they dealt with it.

The AFL as so focused on running the competition as a business and the overall gods of the sport that they have lost the morale compass to deal with things as it will effect their revenue. If the AFL was running a league they would surely have to suspend EFC from the comp if a drug program was proven but I really doubt they will give a punishment as not to effect their bottom line.

It nearly time that the AFL to split the organisation and have one running the league and one running the sport which may allow for more prudent decision making as it appears that many decision having conflicting interests

Are you, as a MELBOURNE supporter which I assume you are as you are posting on here, honestly telling me that you are digging up facts of how we may have gotten away with something that is currently destroying a rival club (EFC), creating a thread about it and then posting it on a public forum?

I'm sorry but are you a complete [censored]? Is your name Brock McLean? Why raise these points even if it is to make your own points against the hypocritical dictatorship that is the AFL?

Your further posts have lost all further credibility with me. I award you no points, and may God/Stynes/Flower have mercy on your soul.

Are you serious? This is a discussion board?

This isn't something new, maybe google the articles. Its already out in the public and this thread isn't going to create any public uprising and calls for an investigation

If you think a demonland poster can do this you overvalue your own self worth.

I find it interesting that the AFL know the problems but don't want anything for the sake of image and was wondering others opinion

We know this stuff already. We know it was looked at. We know there was nothing in it. We also know that Reid is a ^!$&0#*$

The same way Carlton were investigated for tanking but there was nothing in it??! Dr Reid wasn't speaking to a journo he just chats a lot and sadly with the text messages from our club dr I'm not naive to think we weren't doing something.

What??? Who knows but I have no doubt the avoided looking at anything serious.

Drug in sports seems massive to me and I can't believe a sporting organisation would not open the can of works even if they hated what they would fine.

Tanking I can complete understand but drugs is on another scale

Who cares that it occurred:

it's like people want to put their fingers in their ears and repeat 'nothing bad happens nothing and happens'

no you are insinuating that we had a supplement program that rivalled Windy Pill.

I wouldn't believe a word Doc Reid said anyway.

How he can still be the Essendrug club doctor is beyond words.

New header needed : Wolfmother is a troll - discuss. As SWYL points out, who would seriously believe anything Dr Reid said anyway.

I will again go one step further than SWYL - how he is still a registered doctor just astounds me

the AFL is extremely corrupt.

The Essendon verdict will determine whether I (and I imagine thousands of others) will continue to watch and support Aussie Rules.

If Essendon get away with that, I will walk away from the AFL. I will continue to support the MFC, but outside of that, no AFL.

However, if Essendon are found guilty, I will gladly watch them get pumped by 100 points every week, I'd love that.

Damn I've been on the forum long enough not to be called a troll

The inability for people to take an AFL club of the pedestal is truly sad

Mate, I'm all for having a go at the AFL for I think Demetriou was one of the dodgiest, most hypocritical CEOs the AFL has ever seen, but don't drag us through the mud to make your point.

It all depends on how you define "corrupt" but the standard definition is "guilty of dishonest practices, as bribery; lacking integrity; crooked."

On that basis, and given what is known about a number of other organisations around the country, I don't think you've made out your case that the AFL is "one of the most corrupt." I would suggest that whilst many of its practices in recent years could be looked upon as open to debate on integrity and governance and its decision making found lacking in a number of areas I'm not prepared to label the AFL itself as "corrupt".

We've seen some highly questionable conduct from some constituent clubs and individuals and the way it's run often is open to criticism but calling the organisation itself "corrupt" is way out of line compared to some of the things that go on in this country and elsewhere in the world.

You forget that investigations relating to use of PEDs and banned substances happen to be conducted by ASADA, not the AFL. It's nothing like the tanking situation.

In the case of the MFC and one player, Trengove, Dank's involvement concerned the use of a substance admittedly used at Essendon and not pursued by ASADA. Reid's attempting (in whatever forum) to spread insinuations about any other club, about anyone else, is the height of hypocrisy.

As I've already said, we know all this.

In terms of pushing the envelope to protect it's own interests the AFL's shifting integrirty levels are on par with most organisations.

I was tempted to close it late last night (early this morning) and stupidly didn't. Now that it has legs (even if they don't really reach the ground) I suppose it should stay open for a while to see what happens.

I think you mean 'allegedly'. In any case, nothing to do with banned substances.

If you're going to perpetuate this stuff you'll need a bit more than the self-justifying fantasies of Dr Reid. You haven't addressed the major fly in the ointment of your 'case' against the AFL, viz. ASADA. What part did they play in this imaginary cover-up?

If I remember rightly these where investigated & cleared because they were given by a reputable registered person (nurse?) & proven to be vitamin injections.

However, you are right about the AFL. Leak like a sieve at best. Where did the info about Lumumba come from I wonder?

Dr Ried is doing what most guilty persons do. Trying to mitigate the blame. Everybody else was doing it etc.The fact is ASADA investigated the MFC not the AFL ,and found nothing of interest. This has been an on going strategy of the EFC from the start. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard Bombers supporters bleating about how Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood were all doing the same thing. It has also been inferred that the Workcover investigations into various clubs was instigated by people close to Essendon. Again nothing of interest was discovered. I am quite confident that both Workcover and ASADA are quite independent of the AFL.

It's a asada investigation not a AFL investigation, asada don't care about the competition, Dank was never employed by the club, the Melbourne doctor was using him a a consultant, the Essendon program was a systematic program, the MFC knew nothing about it, and unlike Essendon our doctor was involved in every step, Dr read was shut out of the program, also the Essendon players signed a waver.

Have no problem with Wolfmothers post. Last two paragraphs are the most interesting and have validity. AFL will always be hopelessly conflicted. Money, revenue, profit are their reason for being. Everything else comes a distant second. And for mine, Dr Reid is totally discredited. What he says does not matter.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
