Would've liked to see Bennell given another year too, but I suspect Neeld thought he was too soft and cut him free.

Back to the topic though, Kent looks to be a real find. Like most others here, I'm expecting a really good year from him this year.

I think the reason he was let go from MFC in the first place was that he never made the effort in his preparation or in his re-hab to get himself into that sort of nick. Stef has to take some of the blame. Credit to Brisbane for getting him into that sort of condition. No use looking back but why couldn't we at the time motivate him to get serious about his footy? If he was with us now it would be a different story.

His problem is he was unable to really play consistently well out of the number one ruck position. He won't be number one ruck if leuenberger is fit and I think he will struggle to do much damage as a fwd/ruck.

I think there are much better options out there but there is no doubting his athletic capabilities, with all that said he does thrive with added responsibility but not really one I am that worried isn't on our list

Yes I will ask him all the same, have a good rapport with him see what I get, might tell me to get stuffed,

Had a really good chat to both Trengove and Howe about moves to Richmond and GWS and got really good answers, same with Chip Frawely, I honestly believed he hadn''t made up his mind and then after speaking to him after season was over was convinced he was going to Freo till Hawthorn stepped in at last minute

As I have said previously the players will discuss anything as long as you ask in a respectful way, some times they ask me not to publicise which I don't

Most of the 2012 draft decisions were on the back of Neeld he put a fair bit of effort into the recruiting side of the team and whilst there were some clear misses he also was pivotal in a few key draft selections.

I was lucky enough to attend a members event before the draft in which they held the Jesse Hogan press conference and after having a chat to Todd Viney he mentioned how Neeld was having major input into the draft. Was an awesome event to be lucky enough to attend.

Agree with that, had been told/heard exactly the same,

Stef Martin had a good year after a full pre season, backing it up is the test of a good player

But let's move on and not derail the thread, Demonland is on the improve

Just let him train, he is on our list until 2016, that's almost 2 years away and here we are before the 2015 season has started asking him about going to WC. I think we should let him concentrate on training. One thing about extending his contract means that he is happy where he is.

Not surprised as he kicked 3 and looked superb against them in the final game of the season.

If he can stay fit and improve his tank a bit then he is in for a good year I think. He seems happy at the club so I see no reason why we should be worried... at the moment...

Ron....I thought that you were a really long term Demon fan.....as such, like me, I would have thought that you would use the word 'hoping' or 'wishing' rather than 'expecting'!

I have stopped expecting....especially over the last two years when I had been 'expecting' big break out years from Hogan and Christian P, but even way back to expecting break outs from the likes of Ox, Tingay, Glenn Lovett, Paul Prympke, Allen Jakovich, James Cook all cruelly cut down by injury, and of course back even further when RDB was going to resurrect the club as coach back in the 70s

All too stressful to expect....easier to wish and hope.

Take it as a sign of our increased standing. How many players from Sydney, Hawthorn or Geelong have other clubs sniffing around at them? The day we are more sniffee than sniffer means we have earned more respect, IMHO.

Might need to string together a handful of games in a row before he is worth smelling.

when trying to change a soft club culture you have to cut back the rotten wood past the rot into healthier tissue. the fringes are risks you take.

Roosy is still battling with this even after all those cut backs, over the last 4 + yrs.
