Just wondering if the training tomorrow is an open session. The MFC website hasn't been updated - it still has Wed 28th Jan at Gosch's Paddock as the upcoming session.

I have tomorrow off - the first time in two years that I can watch a training session. I hope it's open - Gosch's or Casey.

A bit hard to be closed down at Gosch's. I went past as they were warming up. Vince, Oscar Mc, Max King in rehab running. Am sure Saty and a couple of the others get down there this morning

Can someone please tell Bernie to change his background pic!!!!!!!!

Why should he? He spend a fair chunk of his football career at the Adelaide Crows, that would mean a lot to him.

I have no problem with this, in fact I like that Vince doesn't forget where he got his start.

These players are people, not commodities.

What closed session, I was there and it was a really good session, from Ben Mathews and Daniel Cross 'it was pretty good'

Lots of match sim and setting up the game plan, hence the closed session

Standouts for me in the match sim, Jones x 2, Kent, Garlett, Garland, Jetta, Hogan, Stretch, Newton, Michie

Roos wants the first simple option taken, and lots of movement so there are options, he pulled one run up because Dom Tyson stopped to try and get around him man, instead of kicking straightaway to Hogan who had got free in the 50, gave Tyson a gobfull

Injury news, every member of the squad made an appearance at some time or other, Howie did a few little dance steps and a couple of handballs and left for a swim and weights, conservative estimate at least 4 weeks,

Neal Bullen, was a bit down, just watched for half an hour, another 4 weeks, not sure whether they are going to operate just at the moment, being assessed

Mitch White has a big toe injury, was keeping Jack Trengove company, latest visit to doctor for Jack was on Tuesday, all still progressing well

Others on light duties or rehab, King, Oscar Mc, Bernie Vince (he is week away from full training)

Other notes, Jake Lovett did the whole session, including the match sim, had to look for him, which was really good, no glaring mistakes, had a chat to him, top bloke, hopes to impress, didn't seem that knackered with all the running, so perhaps he is already doing extra

Aaron Vandanberg's body shape is already changing, amazing what full time training can do, he is a big midfielder

I though Billy Stretch would spend most of year at Casey, looked excellent today, speed to burn, didn't miss a kick

What back Injury, during the session the ruck division got together, Jamar, Spencer, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Pedersen and Hogan to do a bit of tap work and second effort, Hogan picked up Gawn at one stage and drove him into the ground, wonderful to watch, didn't get it on camera though, but there are others on my Twitter Demonpk

Spoke to Dean Kent afterwards, he is finally fully fit and firing, feeling great

Got the guns photo today and a half ... Sam Frost

Again any questions feel free

Will obviously depend on who else is in the team and the forward 50, but I expect Hogan will look to contest to inside 50 stoppages at some stage. He's a big physical guy and loves that stuff. And I don't think there's any more risk of injury than normal for a key forward doing boundary throw ins in games.

Certainly a good sign as to his health though that they are happy for him to complete what is more of a non core drill.

Unless we here otherwise I think we should consider his back no longer injured but just managed throughout preseason!

Sorry forgot one of the best in match sim coz he left session early, Watts, has gained a couple of metres of speed, burnt off a couple of opponents, reckons it's just all the extra running and Watt bike work actually doing it's job

And for those who think he is slow, in one match sim, JImmy Toumpas ran down JKH from behind

How is Salem looking so far? Would love to see him spend greater time in the midfield.

Brayshaw and Petracca? how did they look in the match sims.

Don't want to burst the bubble and I actually rate Toumpas' pace but JKH isn't actually that fast in a straight line. Just very creative.

Are you serious?

Really really serious?

Yeah they are also people that are contracted to an opposing team, maybe someone who drives for Mercedes should continued to wear Ferrari gear because that's they where they got their big break from? Why doesn't he wear his crows shirt after hours then?

If it was Joe blow who worked at Wooolies and then shifted to Coles, but still had "Works at woolies" on his facebook, who cares but these guys are in the public, they represent a club that has sponsors and people that look up to them (rightly or wrongly) and this sort of thing could be misconstrued as Bernie has not moved on from his decision to leave the crows. Does not sit right with me.

Actually chap, spoke to JKH, he has worked on his pace over the off season, is quicker than last year

Thanks TDI, reports are a highlight of my day. Good to hear big Jesse is up and about!

Petracca was on a light day, forgot that bit, that's why I ask for questions, should take notes didn't do much.

Brayshaw as I have said before, just does the work, he doesn't stand out for either good or bad

Salem was playing off half back a lot of the time today

I think your overeacting a bit..

His profile pic is him and Nathan Jones having a wrestle and a laugh while his background pic is him, Crossy, Dawesy, NJones all smiles after the Adelaide win. Whats the issue?

And this was a tweet last December

Nearly 25000 members for @melbournefc already. A pre Christmas record! Good to see everyone is as excited as I am about 2015!!

That to me looks like he has moved on from the crows and is very much excited about our future prospects.

Up and about is not the word, he was bouncing around, actually a funny bit, he leapfrogged over I think it was Dunny by jumping up and putting hands on shoulders, Jeff Garlett was so impressed he did the same over Jesse, some serious natural leap

I actually said to Jesse all I would put on Denonland today was that Jesse Hogan was being looked at as a ruck going forward, he was highly amused,

Fabulous lateral movement and evasive skills.

Given the choice of the two, with the crowding of the game, I would opt for lateral movement and evasiveness over straight line speed.

Btw the players must have had their photos done yesterday.

Jack Watts still looks like that 17 year old kid.

Bernie Vince has a rude head..

So why not change it?

Anyway i had my rant, i think it's quite silly but who cares so long as he plays for us giving his all.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
