I'm pretty sure I got bumper stickers with my Interstate member gear hardtack...

The kids (one Young Demon and one Little Devil) definitely got sticker packs because they were immediately plastered all over anything that wasn't moving.

Yes KK, I remember the stickers in my son's junior member pack, but just don't recall the bumper stickers in mine... I will have to go back through my pile of half read mail I suppose ;-)

I have been living up here in Rockhampton for the past 3 years and still maintain my full membership. I just donate my membership to the Reach foundation. I feel sorry for the poor souls during the MN years, the pain I bestowed on them on accepting my gift.

Here's the numbers for comparison with the last couple of years on 12 Feb.

23650 2013

26,039 2014

26,290 2015

Looks like the improved set up at the Club isn't translating to enough optimism to increase memberships. Yet!

Wonder what it will take. Will there be enough optimism in the Admin and Footy Dept to translate into more memberships or is it now only going to take onfield success. Guess we'll know by the beginning of the season or about 4-5 rounds in. IMO in the first 7 rounds the possible wins are Gold Coast at MCG, GWS in Canberra and Adelaide in Adelaide. I probably wouldn't even put GC in that category although I'm always an incurable optimist the first round of every season. We could conceivably be 0-7.

I wouldn't think we will be hitting the 40,000 mark this year if it depends on early wins.

Anyone have the numbers for comparison with the last couple of years?

Today: 26,290

Feb 12 2014: 26,039

Feb 8 2013: 22,962

So tracking same as last year. Our great draftees/trades and stella preseason is yet to rub off on Dees supporters.

BTW on a totally different subject...is it just my computer where the font and spacing is now larger or is it a change to the site?

Thanks LH I went hunting and found them before I saw your response.

We beat Richmond last year no reason we can't beat them again. They've got a soft underbelly.

Being 4-0 after 4 games probably ...

Due to the late start to pre-season games, the Asia Cup, AFL hasn't had much coverage. It is only really this week we are starting to see the media ramp up. Most years we are at least into the pre-season matches by now, we are still 2 weeks away, once this starts you will have that spike in membership.

Possibly, but the figures for all clubs on the AFL website show most clubs to be ahead of this time last year. I suspect its mainly those supporters who read 'land who are most aware of the reasons to be optimistic about our club for 2015. Others will have to see performances in the NAB challenge to have their eyes opened, (fingers crossed).

Great stats Chelly!

I happened to pass the AFL store in the Frankston shopping complex and in front was a stand with Collingwood and Richmond memberships being sold. It occurred to me that they were way outside their territory. Don't know whether clubs rotate there but wouldn't mind MFC getting in on the act as that is the major shopping complex where peninsular and Casey folks would go so we could do with the exposure.

Edit: Just sent an email to the club asking them if they do something similar.

Is it sad that North who have shown a lot of promise in the past few seasons and made the finals the past two, have beaten our membership numbers by only 3000 last season considering we came second last.

Memberships are way to mainstream for St Kilda fans.

I'm pretty hopeless at maths, but if my calculations are correct, GWS must be getting a little nervous being 5% down on this time last year... particularly when you consider they have only amassed 6,940 to date.

Do I need to comment on Hawthorn's slogan Made from brown and gold?

Or did everybody immediately think what I did?

Ha Ha I certainly did spurs. Also wondered how much they paid some marketing/advertising type guru to come up with that shite

I would suggest the under 12's captain could do way better

Yes it is very awful but I would gladly own it if it meant we were back to back Premiers, favoured to do so again this year and had an humungous and growing membership

Some of them are terrible - Geelongs in particular. Collingwood and Carltons are pretty poor too.

Well, I will fold.
I was bloody filthy after that farce against GWS last year but I will rejoin tomorrow. I didn't roll over automatically like most years as those games versus the Lions and the Giants as mentioned before made me bloody dark as.
They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
