Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Sam Blease wants out

Hey s-t-i-n-g-a I know you're being facetious but you're better than that. I think Sam was basically a good kid who went through hard times to get where he was and probably lacked the proper guidance to help him understand the hard work necessary to make it. I wonder how many true role models he had a club that had very few mature leaders such as he might have had elsewhere.

I wish him luck at Geelong. He'll need it and he'll need to take more responsibility on himself when he gets there because whatever he was doing over the past few seasons achieved very little for himself and his club.

That may be true but it's also irrelevant to this current discussion.

I don't wish him any luck at all, in fact after hearing that interview I hope he gets delisted after a year. Bagging your old club in public is just not on.

We are forgetting that during the DB years reports were that the players called the shots particularly how/when to train. This was at a time when we had a mediocre player leadership group. So yes, very difficult for new, young players to get the development they needed and deserved.

Sam could have worded his comments better but they aren't much different than what we all think. Hope he really makes a go of it this time.

He was part of the problem not part of the solution. His choice.

6 yrs in the system and he's just worked out you need to run defensively? Or that you need a tank? Is he deaf?

FFS we have been banging on for years about Blease building a tank. If the punters at Land worked it our years ago what too Sammy so long????

The amount of coaches comment is interesting leaving one who agreed to continue for two more years to play for another coach this year isnt exactly building strength in your argument here Sambo.

In my opinion I didn't feel he ever wanted to be a MFC player especially after his BFF in Judas took off and left. He just didnt seem to want to improve at all. When he did play he just put the blinkers on and played for himself.

Im bitter on his little swipe and hope he fails at the cats

Don't think WJ was being entirely complimentary there. Bit of a backhanded slap for the lad on the way out.

"I've had five coaches in six years. You can only imagine if your boss changes every year almost, it's hard to keep consistency," Blease said.

"As a result, I feel that moving to a new club with a 7th coach is the best move for my career."

Really don't wish him well in his footy career, I hate when fans wish players that they delisted well, why? So they freak it at another club and you made the wrong decision in delisting him? Give me a break.

So you dont wish Daniel Nicholson well who worked as hard as anyone and obviously got the best out of himself for the future?

Did you disagree with the WB supporters wishing Daniel Cross all the best last year?

Seriously what a strange and disgraceful post.

I dont think he is using it as an excuse but instead a reason for wanting a fresh start.

That may very well be part of the truth chookrat, but he certainly could have chosen his words with greater maturity and diplomacy so that most listeners didn't read it as a slap to his old club.

Seeya Sam......

Point 1. You say that the clubs instability is the reason for the failure of our early draft picks. Yes, it probably played a part but what about some of the later picks during your lacklustre career at Melbourne? Jetta (pick 51), Bail (pick 64), Howe (pick 33), Mcdonald (pick 53) all say hi/bye.....

From the start of this year you had no excuses...... Most other failures are because we were 'Prendergasted'. Point 2 will prove this beyond doubt plus some....

Point 2. Recruiting played a major part in the slow erosion of our club. I dare anybody to go to this link http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/td-melbourne-demons?year=1998 and scroll through from 1998 to 2011 without needing a bucket.

Not only were we 'Prendergasted' but we were well and truly 'Cameroned' too. Which leads me to a new word 'Camdergasted'.

'Camdergasted' and for 13 years no less......

No more softc**ks please.

Some points of interest after reviewing our recruiting history.

1. Despite some scathing direct and keyboard warrior attacks Jack Watts re-signed and wants to do the hard yards in helping revive this club. Look out for a steady improvement in 2015 and beyond.

2. Neil Daniher deserves credit for what he achieved with the list and facilities he had at his disposal.

3. Things are looking up from a recruiting perspective since the 2012 draft.

4. The culture change is nearing completion with the likes of Jones, Salem, Dawes, Trengove (what an amazing character), Tyson, Dunn, Cross, Vince, JKH, Mcdonald, Grimes, Jetta etc. all developing nicely.

I can finally see a decent improvement coming for season 2015 which will provide the springboard for seasons beyond.

I find it truly hard to fathom the nasty comments aimed at Sam Blease on this site.

Finally the inside word from a player who is confirming everything we have been speculating on. Yet some of the very people, who I am sure have previously acknowledged the exact same faults of our club and recruiting, are getting nasty just because it comes in the form of a player who speaks his mind. Suck it up you pack of princesses! Don't shoot the messenger.

It hurt to read his comments, it tasted bitter and foul and it made me angry, but I believe they were true words, spoken by a young, naive lad who, despite his faults, has stated publicly what we all know and are too embarrassed to acknowledge beyond the realms of an anonymous online football forum.

Since Sam was drafted we have been a basket case. Full stop. No arguments. A flat out basket case.

It's time to tip your hat to the truth and accept that we have become a different club now. That was the past, let it go and lets move on.

You need to grow up, tdm.

Wishing someone well, up to - and not past - the point where their success embarrasses those that spurned him, is pretty petty.

Yeah, fancy having empathy!? People are just weird. I want my football team to succeed at the expense of human well-being. In fact, I'd be glad if all the opposition players died of polio.

What the Fork?

You sound like Sam. Blame everyone but himself. there are examples of players getting the best out of themselves in the last 8 years. Sam couldnt be arsed to be one of them. That's the truth. Wouldn't do the work. Go back and read the Casey reports. He refused to do the work. Just like Gysberts in the infamous time trial.

Just like Morton when he infamously kicked the ball into the corridor instead of down the line like he was told to do by the coach. These players do what he like. Can't or won't run where they are supposed to. Can't or wont pick up their man. Can't or won't kick the ball out in front of a leading player. Its a cancer in a team. I for one am glad these big heads are out. More need to go. Its our club and they are but bit players that come and go.

Stop stuffing my club up. If you want to do the work I applaud you. If you don't pizz off. Bye sam.

Seriously I am sick of this 'culture' being used as an excuse. You are a professional footballer. Start behaving like one. Not some spoilt kid whose porridge was too hot for him.

Sorry, I've had it all wrong - it must have been Blease who was responsible for our miserable performance over the last 6 years.

Make that 8 years 'cause we would have been looking at him earlier

We are going to be premiers this year.

Your attitude is exactly the same as what you are complaining about with Sam. You must really hate yourself (that must be Blease's fault as well).

Get your head out of your orifice.

Blease is responsible for his own performance. Nothing more nothing less.

FFS, it happened over two years ago but it's on the papers again because of a disgruntled former employee who was unable to impress his new coach.

I'm all for letting it go and moving on but the exactly reason why we're here discussing it is because of Blease's inability to do just that. Think about it.

I don't wish him well because he has publicly bagged the club. My motivation for hoping that he fails at Geelong and gets delisted in 12 months is plain and simple. If that makes me petty then so be it.

I am [censored] sick of seeing negative articles about us in the papers, it continues to damage our reputation and when getting sponsors is a major part of our business then it's serious.

[censored] Blease, I hope he fails.

Hang on!

You can only imagine if your employees change every year almost, it's hard to keep consistency.

So it's not his fault, right?

I've said it before, he's probably right. But ffs don't say it publicly

You're being more vindictive than petty...

The only thing he bagged about the club was our propensity to have a number of coaches over the last few years.

I don't think you can argue that a player being at Melbourne has been a good thing fro their development.

I am not going to burn him for telling the truth, well, the truth as he sees it - but I will disagree with his version of the truth.

Other than that, I don't like to hold grudges - just don't see the benefit.

If we want a healthy culture, we are going to have be a 'bigger' club when it comes to things like this.

Sorry for the confusion- I was being sarcastic (lowest form of wit, I know).

I agree with you completely; he's weak as [censored], and since he decided to slag the club off on his way out, I hope he fails miserably.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
