2014 Player Review - # 32 Michael Evans

Really disappointing year I thought. He's got pace and has shown ball winning ability before, just didn't fire a shot this year. He's meant to be a hard working outsider; Ro Bail showed that you don't need heaps of skill to play this role in our side at present.

Last roll of the dice in 2015. I don't think he'll be delisted while contracted but it may at least be considered.

Utter waste of space and really not sure why he was given a new contract last year. Next year would be his fifth year in the system - not sure why he'd suddenly turn it around. I'd rather pay him out and have an additional draftee / rookie / DFA.

I thought he was unfortunate. He can play and I hope we don't break his contract

Doesn't look close to being an afl standard player. Sadly one of many on our list, and one of several to be fortunate to have contracts next season to prove doubters like me wrong.

Trade for Tutt. Both players have little value so it may be possible. Throw in a late pick if required.

He's not up to it delist him. I can't believe he has a contract.

Yep.....Just like Dunn, Pederson ect.....Players can improve....He has a year to prove himself....

Has been in the sick bay for so long but he has pace and a reasonable kick .Can see him doing ok at the feet of a tall.

Same boat as Nicho for me, except Nicho didn't have a contract. Will probably remain on the list until the end of his contract, doubt he will add to his games tally in 2015.

Clogger...need to dee-clog !!

I had a good vibe about him at the end of last year. His back issues were sorted, he got on the park and played a little bit of decent footy, I thought he could come on strong.

D'oh!

He's got another year. Can you remember the last time anybody got paid out for a year?

Shame. He was another in the long line of 50/50s that went the wrong way when the time came to really step it up development wise.

I felt a bit the same. It's not as though he doesn't have ability. But for whatever reason it seems he sets a new world record for Out on the Full whenever he plays in the seniors

I thought 2014 was going to be his year under ROOS.

How wrong I was.

If we can get a suitable trade, do it.

i had faith, however his 2014 has been a real shame and i wouldn't be surprised if his contract was broken.
he has some good attributes, but if he can't put it together on game day then thats too bad.

Trade? No-one is going to give up a draft pick or player for a kid they could probably get with the last pick in the rookie draft.

There will players that automatically get delisted and or traded

There will be those in the ?-basket. Some will be left on the list for the time being as they may add to a trade etc or someone might surprisingly have some interest etc etc.

For these players it will all depend how the rest of the trading and drafting goes ( or expected to go ) .

They''ll be retained til they dont need to be. I suspect Evans is one such player. I wouldnt go getting any big mortgages just atm if I were he !!

Some of his late season Casey reviews by Miller were epic bad!!

I'd rather have Nicholson on the list than Evans, and I don't rate Nicho in the slightest.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
