Don't bet on it DD I'm betting this was a big part of why we have tried to 're sign him so early, get an idea of where he is at incase a tough decision has to be made

Ok, lets entertain this crap about jones for a second then.

He's contracted for another 12 months & restricted next year. Even if he tells the club he's eager to walk next year to the pies, they either have to satisfy us with a trade this year (currently looking like pick 5 for beams, their own 1st Rnd pick & Lumumba as real trade-able assets) or chances are we get band 1 compo next year which if we don't significantly improve in 2015 is likely to be another top 3 pick. Thus whatever we got for him this year would have to be pretty bloody good!

Either way we hold the cards, not jones nor collingwood.

So early? Gun players routinely get extensions with a year or more to go on their contracts, that's why there's soo much media hype about anyone playing their last contracted year without an extension. There is nothing early about it.

Meanwhile, players are jumping ship at collingwood left right and centre!!!

People on here were mocking suggestions pendlebury is gettable on other threads just because he's collingwoods captain...... But at demonland we like to panic and jump at shadows on the back of what a physio said.......

You mentioned Jones said that he will sign a extension soon. That article backs up my argument.

No where is it mention he will sign an extension. Just the fact that the club are set to put an offer forward.

It says both parties are negotiating an extension. I think if he'd made up his mind to leave already they wouldn't be wasting their time talking to us much like Frawley's manager refusing further discussions all year.

The first bizarre rumour of the silly season : jeremy howe op for trade

Dont understand why this is bizarre. I have mentioned previously I expect if you are not a pure mid or true key position your name will be floated for the right price. Howe, Garland, Grimes, Watts will all be raised for the right price.

Don't find a Howe trade surprising in the slightest. Has everyone forgotten the spray Roos gave him and Watts? He's less than in love with these two.

He was very good in defense in some games, but very quiet in others. Didn't have an interrupted preseason so no real excuse for a form slump given his fitness.

Losing Maxwell, Beams, McCaffer and Heretier for next year is going to hurt.

Next year could be Swan's last.

Wouldn't go near that joint right now.

This.

Even if the twice removed rumour from a club physio is true, why would Jones go from us to the Pies? It won't be to go home/ for more opportunity.

If it's about money we can (and will) match the $$ the pies throw at him.

If it's about success there are at least 8 teams with better prospects than the pies atm.

Oh please........If coaches traded every player that he gave a spray to, we'll be trading out every player every year

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
