The whole football Industry sort of adopts a dialect of Roos-speak come this off season Silly Period

what transpires is seldom what anyone is actually saying. Smoke and mirrors etc

its just like Roos when he talks.. Who remembers the choreographed utterances form early on to when he "accepted" the Melbourne position.

This a dance of words

It looks like double speak! For us to actually announce we are approaching Crows there must be some real possibility that he can be had. By all accounts there have been plenty of overtures to him. Otherwise why would we make a public statement and waste time and energy.

I am now officially excited.

Mahoney wouldn't ask for a trade and make it public if we were no chance.

You know...I haven't been stuffed to buy a Melbourne Guernsey in like 5 years. If Danger comes, it will not only inspire me to buy one, but one with his number...w/e that will be

He didn't give much away - just that we made an inquiry and that, if he was interested, we are best placed to put a deal together. Glad we are inquiring about it but not excited yet.

It all comes down to an offer he cant refuse. His lawns I will mow. Anyone care to clean out his gutters every 6 weeks or so?

Interesting as others note that such a public display of this has transpired. Kind of odd, unless........

This is an emotional rollercoaster... Just like Judd/Scully/Roos/Tanking etc.

The easy way to overcome that is to keep telling yourself that there is no way in hell that Danger will ever come to us, even if I see him in a Melbourne polo at a press conference it will be a conspiracy to f@#k with my mind.

I still think we are talking about this to distract everyone else from our real target...

could be a double bluff too. Get everyone paranoid your targeting someone else by stealth when all youre doing is walking straight up to the front door in plain sight. Lots of things hidden in plain sight !!

That seems more likely to me. Why go blasting to everyone we want Danger, we know what happens when a lowly club does that.

Is pick 2 & 3 for Dangerfield fair?

Mmm..........Scully / Trengove for Dangerfield.............where do we sign!

would more likely be pick 2 , Toumpas and pick 22 for Danger and their pick 29

Id do that ( but then I AM biased !! )

Heard Dangers manager on SEN. Sounded like a standard line from a manager to be honest.

"Dangers happy at Adelaide, I haven't spoken to him for a couple of weeks but he's happy..."

Sounded full of confidence...not.

No, definitely not.

Danger will be 25 next season. Coughing up picks 2 AND 3 would be reckless in the extreme. Those picks are hugely important in establishing a team for sustained success. They can net us 3 or 4 high quality players.

The club won't be that silly. I hope.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
