-Demonlanders are much less gun shy about the draft.

I think that its not only who you play alongside but just as important as who you are coached by long term that matters

Nothing I read in that article leads me to the same conclusion as you..

I for one believe that he is a 'bit' player. Easily replaceable and someone (like Frawley and Sylvia in the past) who will net is something better.

These guys are not leaders of the club and aren't taking the club forward. It's the younger guys who are doing it now.

Garland's position can easily be replaced and to be honest, I'd like it to be.

I don't buy too much into the 'mental scars' thing.. because Nathan Jones makes the point moot... BUT if ever there was a poster boy for mental scars it's Garland, you can see it in his face when he plays footy. I'm not necessarily seeing him part of the Jones/Vince/Hogan/Brayshaw/Viney/McDonald type attitude that represents the club we are rebuilding

We will never be in our "window" if we keep going for kids.

We need quality peak age players around the young guns or they will never develop into what they should be.

Dangerfield is 25. Get it, 25. When do you think we should start getting better rather than thinking about the far off future?

I don't see why people are so adverse to the idea of going hard at Dangerfield.

We pay $1m a year combined for Lumumba & Dawes to do sweet FA. Much better to throw that money at a genuine star like Dangerfield and bring in a hungry rookie in the vandenBerg mould to top up the list.

Add the almost certain departures of Jamar and McKenzie at year end, and possibly Howe as well, and we have oodles of salary cap space.

As far as losing experienced players we have been, regardless of whether or not we've come out on top. Sam Blease and Riley had nothing to do with free agency either.

I'm still convinced Roosy and co. were cooking up something re. Sydney last year before the AFL nixed their player-trades and we suddenly shopped Trengove out for a first-round pick. Just not sure what we might have been interested in in that section of the draft. Or maybe Roos just gets a kick out of trolling Collis - Perris, Dew, Heeney & maybe now Hannerbery.
