Guess I must be the only one who is skeptical when someone says "I talked to my guy at the club and...." in an anonymous setting. I've only read it on Demonland a thousand times before. Maybe if I knew who his contacts were and, indeed, who he was.

I've no doubt GNF does know someone at the club (I don't think he's making it all up), but I simply cannot, ever, count on a poster I don't know as delivering 100% gospel. He deals in rumours, not facts, in my eyes. And I still question his motives.

Carry on.

At which point the site will go into meltdown and the mods won't have to shut it down to enforce a cooling-off period on us. :o

This site has survived:

1. Woey's trading

2. Scott Thompson's depature

3. Liam Jurrah

4. Jim Stynes' death

5. Schwab/Neeld/Bailey

6. Jesse Hogan

7. Viney F/S draft day

8. Numerous other draft days

9. Tom Scumbag Scully

10. Approx. 987 Jack Watts threads

It'll survive this too.

186 it struggled if I remember.

I think we all struggled.

Pretty sure many people were drunk posting.

Typing that list came way too easily and has depressed me beyond belief.

We are definitely a bunch of survivors here at the MFC. Made of tough stuff. The staff that I work with jump on and off the bandwagon of which ever club they support depending on how well they are positioned on the ladder. They all smirk as I religiously tip Melbourne each week, sign up immediately for my new membership and still have the MFC ring tone on my phone.

I am as gutted as the next person if all of these MC rumours are true. I will be sulky and cranky but quickly move on (I think so anyway....). There will be another MC in the wings somewhere waiting to get drafted by us.

I wasn't. Surely he knew the supporter base would go in to meltdown.

Let the club and Mitch tell their own story. If you have "inside info", keep it to yourself. He does not have the right to tell the club's point of view.

You tell me - what good has come from GNF's post?

Really Nasher? Come on mate, GNF's posts are some of the best things to come out of this site.

I would rather him exercise the right to pass on what intel he knows (~100% factual) as opposed to reading peoples hypotheticals.

The problems it's caused today lay with those that are too immature to think before they write. Not GFN.

12. Aussie retiring prematurely after mourning the loss of his father and Maurice Rioli

"Around 100%" is probably somewhere less than 100% - that is exactly my point. If it were me, I would not post something that was going to cause a riot among MFC fans unless I was willing to put my name and my sources name to it. Without that, I just don't see how you could treat it as anything less than another hypothetical.

I'm clearly on my own (or in a very small crowd), so I won't carry on about it any further.

This saga is immersed in a pool of horse [censored]. This blokes a Gen Y chasing the bucks and im sick of these pre madonnas (him and maybe lamumba, labamba WTF he is) It stinks!

Do you mean prima donna?

I think he meant anyone that came before Madonna.

Maybe, had the injury and the depression not stolen him from us, he could have become our Marradonna ?? The first ie= prime maradonna?

GNF has great sources but his sources may not be fully informed of Mitch's intentions - Mitch or his agent are not his sources...

I can see the darkness coming but I won't react until it comes and a few hours later the sun will come up and we will move on again.

Never a more resilient club was born on this green earth.

Would be nice to get a few things going for us however...

I'll wait for the official word before jumping in, but I'm hoping it's not another kick in the nuts.

It seems like this clubs lot in life: 'So you thought something good was going to happen? Here, have another kick in the nuts. That will teach you to hope'

I don't often agree with Dermie, but he is spot on there.
