and is a pretty good mark when his on song.

He can mark.

When he's 5meters in the clear.

Prefers to avoid contested situations altogether.

Never seen him on song though.

I just dont get why anyone wouldn't want to keep him

Simply because he is one of a handful of players with skills on our list. Not every team member has to an aggressive bull with very poor disposal. Every team needs outside as well as inside players. I think Jack's defensive game is on the improve. A lot more tackles starting to happen.

No, that's not a prediction BB, just a personal hope.

not entirely.. Mouse still favours him I think , and his ego is such that Im sure he thinks he can extract the gold no one else has to yet.

We all say JW should have been dropped at times this year but if we are honest who would we replace him with who do any better?

The cardboard is bare .

We might as well keep playing him

when making a principled stand you would play a one legged player first if the principle demanded it to introduce the value system. the tail has to stop rocking the dog, the tail has to learn that wagging isn't fun without the big platform from which to wag.

I think george la pell just earnt himself a job anywhere anytime, as a freight consultant with integrity ? or a truck driver. Older women will be safer having him about, that is for sure.

It's all about trust. When you're on the footy field, or any other sporting field, you need to be able to look at the guy next to you and see he is giving his all. When it's your time to go, you go hard. That creates a special bond between players. Jack Watts is not an AFL footballer. He's a touch footballer where tackling and physicality are not necessary.

In a team that wins more than it loses his touch could be the bond.

I drift from one side to the other with Jack, but as of this second, I think our current lack of team affords some time, the idea being, that as we get really good, the ducks will line up.

If he hasn't learned by now that body contact won't kill him and he has to keep his feet I don't think he will. Would make a standout state league/ammo player but you need more than talent to make it in the pros - you need the mentality and he does not have it.

What good are his elite foot skills when he's always looking to offload the ball with dinky handballs? You need more than one string to your bow and most players with elite foot skills also need to take the game on and break the lines with their attack. He doesn't do that at all and always runs to the contest/ball instead of running through it.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
