so basically we'll end up with either Petracca or Brayshaw?

I see that as a win, win really.

I bet you're a happy camper tonight!

Time will tell how good Petracca becomes but if he is anywhere near the Wines/D.Martin hybrid like he's pumped up to be, I CANNOT WAIT to see him in action.

Whether he will end up like those two or not one thing is for sure: HE WILL HAVE A [censored] DIP!

Petracca looks like a bloody man child and is not just what Toumpus would look like on steroids?

I just hope these draft picks have the same effect on our club that Buddy and Rough did.. Premierships!

I wish Toumpas had Petracca's strength through the core.

Who knows, maybe Toumpas is just playing catch up after hip surgery a couple years back.

But if we get the best out of Jimmy Toumpas and Christian Petracca, we'll be a very dangerous football side.

The best thing I heard when Roos was interviewed was that "we now have to develop all our draft picks properly".

Geez it's nice to be in good hands for a change.

Couldn't be happier with CP.

Welcome.

Please tell me they were taking the [censored] with their top buttons up?

You're all over the important issues tonight Goodvibes.

There's just something about landing Petracca that is so un-Melbourne like and it utterly excites me.

I cant put my finger on it, but he is exactly the type of player we were never meant to have landed. Hes the type that goes to other clubs...surely...

Best draft i can remember in such a long time..if ever..as it stands.

exactly!! Not sure what it is but im wrapped

What an absolute belter of an interview. These guys just rolled off each other looked genuine excited to be together and playing for the Melbourne Football Club. Lot of laughing and banter between em just love it. Thats what footys all about.

Compare it to the dull and snooze fest interviews Scully and Trengove gave together couple of years ago.

Obviously he plays differently and the game is different, but not just because he's Italian but the bubbly enthusiasm Petracca has is very like what I imagine a young Dippa would've been like.

I just laughed the whole time. These boys are just so happy to be at the demons

Liking the multi-cultural flair. Greek, Lebanese and now Italian. And all three are guns in the making.

I read somewhere that they live together?

Correction: These boys are just so happy to be playing together at the Demons

Poor old paddy looked like a lamb in headlights when he was welcomed to their club by roo over the telephone

"He's gonna kill me!"

Fantastic clip.

There was something about those two. I've never seen draftees come to Melbourne that just looked like they were going to make it. They oozed confidence together. I hoe we see that on the field. Amazing.

They were billeted together on the GC for the draft. Other than that I don't know.

Disagree. Out isn't just that. Though they are pumped to be together.

The relationship Angus has with Roos is a plus. They are happy to be at Melbourne.

It isn't Essendon. It isn't st kilda. It may not be getting drafted to Hawthorn BUT it isn't horrible anymore to come to roos and the dees.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
