Barry getting a real lesson down back.

Watts on the other hand, is playing his usual lackluster game.

Barry will learn. Watts won't.

Barry experiment down back is too dangerous against Hawthorn. We can't really afford this sort of match up when we are barely treading water here.

Problem is, no Grimes and no Terlich. Who goes to him?

Game over now.

But it makes no difference. Why not try him against the best? Great way for him to learn.

Has Watts ever delivered the ball inside 50 from a center clearance? Every time he gets a handball from a clearance he looks backwards for anoher handball. He should have gone forward there. He looked sideways and it cost us a goal..

His lethargy in disposing the ball is very obvious. Why can't many of you see it?

Dom Barry is doing ok.

Hill works top level players over.

The guy is a seriously elite athlete, he works over elite AFL athletes.

Considering Barry has only played a few games, it is no disgrace to be worked over by Hill.

As for Watts, well.. Jack just needs to ask Viney what this game of football is about.

Maybe get Todd to work with him for a year, because Watts just doesn't know basic football.

Jack Watts doesn't seem to understand that you can't have the same intensity you have at training during a game.

He had five metres on his opponent then; but because he was jogging with the ball instead of running, by the time he figured out who he wanted to kick to, his opponent was right up his clacker and he had to handpass it instead...and even then the handpass was so poor that the ball got turned over.

A game like this so close to the end of the year will be a death knell for anyone Paul Roos wasn't sure about. If you value your career, you will do anything you can to be competitive for the next hour.

Have I landed in the Hawthorn vs. Jack Watts thread here? We can't trade him away otherwise half the posters here won't have anything to dribble about each week.

The problem is that people talk him up, and then his contribution is well below the value dictated by the passion of those that approve of him. He is awful. He is to Melbourne what Ottens was to Richmond. We have this discussion every year. He is very average.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
