What would everyone honestly prefer? Finishing the year with 6 wins and ~14th on the ladder, or finishing second last with only 4 wins and picks 2 & 3? The only thing appealing about the latter is what Roosy could do with those picks, as it gives us incredible leverage to get almost any player he wants to the MFC.

On the flip side, we're all sick to death of waiting for the next "great white hope" from early draft picks.

I'm sick of seeing us losing... so for sure the former. Winning would also be beneficial to the internal culture and the players confidence entering preseason. You can't underestimate the value of this. There was a time where I would of been satisfied with the former scenario...but not anymore. No more excuse now. If we're a club on the rise we have to get at least 6 wins or more. We have to...and I we know will and its going to start from this afternoon hopefully when we smash Brisbane :D

Ill take the extra wins thanks

Boggles my mind that anyone would rather lose than win especially coming from where this club has come from

From reports they are highly keen on Petracca. Obviously unhappy about any situation where we finish beneath them on the ladder, as our two picks before them will probably ensure Petracca is long gone before their first pick.

Solution? Tank! Also gives us very little bargaining power to trade picks and nab Cameron/Shiel, so it's quite logical for them to stay beneath us.

get the early pick, look to trade with the Suns, maybe Swallow & P-10ish ?

We need to win. The biggest issue is the lack of confidence in winning bloody games of footy, we need that far more than a few spots higher up the draft chain.

As PR has already shown with pederson, with believe and confidence our existing players can make the gains we need to play finals.

Can't believe this is not mentioned here, but on the radio they were talking about how Tom Boyd is really unhappy at GWS and wants out

grab him, & shiel.

i'd much prefer we win every game for the remainder of the year and we start to see consistency and skills from the likes of watts, blease, tapscott et al than finish lower on the ladder.

in fact, if we could somehow end up with lucky pick #7 i'd be ecstatic.

we all would prefer it. & if we all worked at the club, we would be doing our darnedest to achieve just that...

but as supporters, we can other ideas in mind, but still prefer to win head over heart or heart over head

I ask this in all seriousness. Is there a major difference between pick 1 and pick 5 this year? Is there a standout player or players? I haven't had a look at the TAC lads this year. At a guess to trade with GWS would have to involve players and picks as I can't see GWS wanting to lose Shiel or Cameron and only move up one spot in the draft.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
