Carlton a bit stiff to lose tonight but the story to me was how flat Freo look. Malthouse had it all over Lyon tonight and if it wasn't for the class of Fyfe then they were up right up the creek. Maybe the close win will kick it into gear for them but at the moment they look anything but a premiership threat.

How good was Fyfe, ten contested possessions and a couple of goal assists in the final quarter

it's abit unfreo like the way they're going at the moment, I really hope they can get it right and be a feature this finals series.

Very; Ross seems to have lost his mojo at the moment.

Fyfe an absolute Superstar. Dockers not nearly as good as last year at the moment. Problems up forward - Pav probably will be O K after the knock tonight - Mzungu loss for a bit will be a problem.

Ballantyne held until the last quarter but another match winner. Dawson still a worry for Ross.

As I have a soft spot for Carlton seeing as my mum barracks for them, I was glad to hear they took it right up to Freo, just couldn't close it off with a win. I didn't watch the game as I had a nap, wether Carlton were good tonight, Freo looked flat, or both, Carlton should pat themselves on the back, winning by under a goal over in Perth to a potential top 4 team. I just wish our game against Freo wasn't as crud as it was :(

Why were Freo wearing their clash strip at a home game? I thought Carlton had an all white strip themselves.

Home team should always wear home colours and be up to the visiting team to have an appropriate clash strip. Even if it means having more then one possible clash jumper

They wore white as part of the tribute paid to the Maslin children, Fremantle supporters who died when MH17 was brought down.

What we saw last night from Sydney is what I expect to see from Melbourne in 2016. Hard, unrelenting two way running and a tremendous defence. The Swans and the Hawks look light years ahead of the rest.

Wash your mouth out with petrol and then have a smoke HH.

Alternatively, you could simply have nothing more to do with your mother.

I posted my awe of these two teams after watching their recent game WJ. I was particulary impressed by both teams ability to dispose of the ball under pressure.

Sadly, however, we look more like playing that type of footy in 2026.

Damn you BBO, I am sitting at my local cafe after a 100km bike ride having a coffee, and after reading this I laughed so hard I spat my coffee over my table. Now everyone here thinks I am bitterly twisted!

Adelaide could have knocked Esendrug out of the 8 but failed hard

Pathetic effort from the Crowbots

Tell someone who cares hh

I dislike the Crows with deep intensity.

Them out of the top eight makes my day.

Not a big fan of the Blues I see BBO

You're right on the money Hulkster. In fact I I think the moderators should give you a severe sanction for showing Carlton any consideration on Demonland. It must violate the code of conduct ...surely?

Sorry Bitter, it won't happen again ;)

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
