As much as I hate it, Jack did give away the free there. Nothing he could have done, but the free was definitely there.

Didn't realise spoiling the ball was a free kick, but you learn something new every day.

I think that's fair, my issue is that Bail didn't get a free kick for a similar incident.

Mfc need to protest this umpiring it has been disgusting

He is playing as a loose across back.

Blind freddy would pick up a possies playing that role.

Dont put him on a pedestal for that, wait until he wins a few hard ones.

Unbelievable stuff - holding the ball they don't pay consistently both ways and that final free kick was the icing on the cake of stupidity

Cracking a bloke in the head is not a valid spoiling technique, as much as I wish it were.

ive no dramas with the umps.

We can win this and leave SA 2-0

Loose across half back or not he was a lot better in the 3rd and I am no Watts supporter

Explain how? The umpire paid a free for high contact. High contact which came after spoiling the ball. It was incidental contact, never a free.

He'll never win hard ones. He did his best Nick Maxwell impersonation that quarter and it paid off

Should have recalled that last boundary throw in . A disgrace

You know who invented the Jack Watts as creative defender role? Mark Neeld. It's Jack's best position because he's not particularly good at winning his own ball, and in the backline he has the space to get the ball from his teammates.

Thats because you have seen their last quarter performance......wait for it !! Anything to get Port over the line

AKA he is doing better than I said so I will attempt to lessen what he is doing.

Still bagging Watts after that . Ppfft

Auugghhh

I reckon that if this is close, the crowd will get them over the line - probably via the umpires

If we get a good start, we'll win.

Watts has played all his good games as a sweeper off half back - less pressure and more time. If Port stick with an extra back, or man Watts up?

Still have to have the intent to work hard and his to smother intercepts had nothing to do with been a loose man

I just did. You haven't been allowed to spoil the ball while making contact with the head since the 80s or 90s.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
