150 k makes for a long depressing drive home after a 440 sunday thrashing.

I feel your pain, northern country vic, small town called Murchison. Those drives home and the stop at Wallan north bound to feed the mini onedays can be very painful at times especially when all three get out of the car still proudly wearing their #4, 7 and 24 on their MFC guernsey.

Beech forest,3 hour drive and would prefer etihad{yes i know you hate it} to the "G"{especially with smaller crowds]

Dont know where norway is,never been on a plane.

Also not sure about pig farmers.{Josh}dairy farmers are definitely smarter.

They stink like old men{similar to yourself}.

They all look the same and its difficult to remember their names.{pigs that is}

They dont do what the dog tells them.{the pigs and the farmer]

Last but not least,a dairy farmer will be proud to introduce his occupation,a pig farmer says he is an IT expert.

Well lads , being of modest disposition, i hate to brag but I'm currently luxuriating in a 5 plus star resort near DaNang. The only thing football like is the pool which is about the size of the MCG. The pool itself runs down to the beach but the walk is a little too taxing for me. Solution. So I feign a disability and have a couple of the servants wheel me down. With a fan , umbrella and constant supply of the local brew.

I would have fitted in well to the colonial period.

For the last 12 months: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Currently back in Victoria for a month before heading back for another stint in Addis, so looking forward to actually seeing us play live against the cats with my old man (Geelong supporter). Been a long time since we played them at the G!

Bit hard at the moment with the World Cup going on But on a side note, there are high altitude training facilities here that would surely be far cheaper to use than the ones in the US!

They love these stories and are quite happy to spend some money by sending a pump and 100 footies back with you.

My son did some volunteer work Os and the afl had no hesitation in giving some supplies for him to disperse.

Hmm, I've got a long list of stuff I want to take back with me already! But will have to consider that. I think there is some promo work happening in Kenya at the moment so who knows maybe they'll be able to ship something over.

Dc, I have off course used the palanquin method but it has some inherent dangers - if one of the lazy beggars crumples under the load the result can be very undignified indeed.

I lived and worked in Zambia and the DRC for the best part of 6 years. Some of the things I've seen and experienced are quite amazing (and disturbing) when looking back at them.

I have no idea what you do there Ascobar (I was in mining) but some of the more satisfying things we did as expats were to visit childrens orphanage's of which there were plenty of. We'd take along a few bags of maize meal and whole chickens which as you would know makes up the main staple diet - along with Kapenta (dried minnow like fish). We used to take the Sherrin along as well and taught the kids how to kick and handball and eventually tried to run some training drills. It was highly amusing to say the least.

Such an amazing continent. Enjoy your time there.
