10 steps backwards.

Bulldogs [censored] reserves? Are you serious?

Dom Tyson, even in form let alone out of form, is the most tackled bloke in the world.

Garland is now a ineffectual footballer.

Give us a decent pick for brain fade Frawley.

BAIL. Hey satyriconhome - I've got a question you can ask at training, ask Bail who came up with the play where he has a mark 60m out from goal, and the selected delivery method is to run on to his left and snap it into the forward line. Would love to know the thinking behind this innovation.

Shut down Jones and Vince and we have sweet [censored] all.

Roos still has no idea how to use the sub.

Frawley was actually one of our best. He kept Jones touchless in 3/4 of football and then shut down Stringer once Jones was subbed out. Plus he gave us some run out of the backline.

If you only ever look at mistakes then you're going to have a really unpleasant life.

If those mistakes cost several goals in a tight game where you lose by one then they do count.

When you see an established player make so many fundamental errors you have to ask why would any club offer him a big contract.

Oh, and run out of the back line only counts if you don't turn the ball over when you kick it.

Dudes! The effort was there.

Get rid of the imposters. Matt Jones is rarely effective with possessions. Garland run around today like a rabbit dazed by the headlights. His disposal was putrid. Frawley? Take the money cos the Guy is lacking between the ears. Wasn't Dawes day. Dropped too many marks. Jamar was our best with good back up from Gawn.

Jetta, Viney and Pederson deserve honorable mentions.

I'm very disappointed too, but why say silly things? I'd say the bottom 3 teams are the 3 teams in the bottom 3 teams on the ladder, and we're not one of them.

That said, bottom 4ish is probably about right anyway, and it's about what I expected at the start of the year. It's easy to start getting way ahead of yourself after a few good wins and I reckon plenty of us are guilty of it.

I'm calling the spoon. Hate away... We are schizen.

Well, they say you learn from your mistakes, so on the basis of that we won't lose another match this season.

We found ways to butcher it when there weren't any ways.

Lowest 3 disposals to Terlich, Salem, Kent - all forwards (today). Therein lies a tale.

And for all the bitching about Tom McDonald, back line doesn't look the same without him down there - though Garland just isn't the same Garland, which isn't helping either.

It's easy to pick on fourth quarter efforts and free kicks and what not that happened late, but surely that run of Dogs goals early is the true disgrace?

With only two winnable games left for the year, we cannot afford to be playing so awfully against a depleted 14th-placed side.

Didn't deserve to win it. But how f@cking infuriating is that loss. My biggest pet peeve in footy by far is when footballers don't know their limits, M Jones, Frawley, Garland and (I hate to say it) Tyson were caught trying to do way too much today on more than one occaision. Why do melbourne players always try and barge through 3 opposition players. They f@cking get pinned so often it's maddening!!!

Pathetic effort from the team today. We just lost to a depleted bottom 4 team. We are now entrenched in the bottom 4 and are a chance for the spoon if Brisbanes revival continues.

Also Chip Frawley needs to go. Hasn't played great footy for a few years, but at present he isn't best 22 and cost us multiple goals today through dumb decision making and poor skills. Really disappointing to see such a fantastic defender degenerate into a poor utility. Hopefully we can still make out with good compo even though he isn't worth it.

Yeah I agree Chip needs to go.

Made some terrible decisions when the heat was on.

I think some may be jumping the gun - yes we were poor today but I think some need to go and watch a couple replays from 2013. Effort was nearly there - just some silly brain fades.

We need to bring in some classy players at the end of the year that can lead this group and scrap a couple (Nicho, Terlich etc.).

I think we also made a couple poor selections - Michie should have come in for cross not Nicho

Frawley while he did a great job on Jones but FMD what goes through his head when he has the ball?

He confuses himself by going one way then another and then either stuffs the handball or kick up.

IMO he probably doesn't have his full 100% mind on the job as he knows he is already gone.

Surely the umpire boss is answerable to somebody. The HTB rule is effectively gone. Dropping the ball, gone. [censored] hopeless. When will the rolling mauls and stacks on the mill stop. The game is not enjoyable to watch anymore.

Pathetic disgusting etc etc

Dumb footballers everywhere. Can't kick, can't handball, can't win a damn clearance.

Umpires can also go and get [censored]. That deliberate was the final margin. Hope whoever paid it is relegated to the VFL for life.

Days like today remind me why being a Melbourne supporter is just so exhausting.

Wow, I just read some of the other posts on here. Some people forget that this time last year we would have gone done by 15 goals after giving away that start.

Losing this game teaches our players about concentration and consistency. We are on the improve.

Lose the battle and win the war folks.

Stringer kicking 4 goals as a developing player, meanwhile Toumpas is playing off the extended bench in the rabble at Casey. It wasnt only Wines we missed but we have also seen Stringer Grundy Wines Vlastuin Mcarae ect all tearing it up now.

Dumbest quote of the season, none of them with the exception of Wines have torn it up. They have simply shown some improvement, which is hardly tearing it up.

Demonland poster forecasts the worst possible case scenario after a loss. Groundbreaking first.

Why do I still bother reading this forum? I already know what everyone's going to say before I even open most threads.

How about you comment on the game, pal? Toumpas has probably got one of the best kicks on our list. You think we might want someone who knows how to kick?

No point having a good kick if you cant even get a kick

Yet he can't get a game, in this side, despite being fully fit.

I don't love hating Toumpas, but we're looking at a player at the end of his second season who has no confidence and has shown none of his wares.

He's now coming from a long way back.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention.
