What is it with Demonland posting half our posts twice all the time?

I think it is when you have a slow connection, or possibly when D'land is overstressed, and one gets impatient and hits Post more than once.

Roos is more into team defense. He will definitely have match ups planned, but the match ups are only the basis for the back six + midfielders to defend that part of the ground as a body of players. Pendlebury is the worry for me. He is so creative and influential and I can't see anyone from the Dees having the nous or class to match him or beat him.

I reckon both sides match up across the 22 pretty well, but I give the Pies the edge in the middle. The balance of the game lies with players like Swan, Elliot, Fasolo or Salem, JKH, Bail who will make the game for one side or the other. Smaller players finding space to run into to kick goals.

We are a genuine chance in this game, but we keep losing very winnable games by small margins.

Relentless pressure from the opening bounce

This. I'm not worried about the match ups per se. Let's remember who made Collingwood look ordinary this year and how they did it - Freo with their press in Round 1, and Adelaide with their overall ferocity at the man and the ball at the Adelaide Oval. I'm less confident than others on here because I think the Pies are a very consistent side who are tough to beat but if we can be thereabouts at 3/4 time, you never know.

You can't allow Collingwood to control our forward 50m arc. They zone off and create from Half Back, you stop that we win.

Exactly ..... and the absence of Maxwell should work in our favour.

They have alot of weapons Elliot will need attention and Harriter ( Harry O )needs a defensive match up.

For mine its one from left field Garlo on Elliot and Bail tight on Harry O with a view to work him with relentless running almost in a decoy foward role.

They have alot of weapons Elliot will need attention and Harriter ( Harry O )needs a defensive match up. For mine its one from left field Garlo on Elliot and Bail tight on Harry O with a view to work him with relentless running almost in a decoy foward role.

I'd put Watts on Harry-o, sure Harry can run off but if he doesn't do something with it he is leaving a quality forward on his own in a dangerous spot, back our defence to stop Harry- o and turn their weapon into a weakness

Put Howe on Harry O, make him accountable but also go through him make Harry O man Howe up. Elliot, Jetta gets first crack. The year we drew and lost by a couple of points to them, what we did was go through Shaws and Maxwell's man, it made them man up and every time the zoned we hit there man, Petterd in the first game was this and it made them be accountable.

Hope Dawes has a big day in front of goal. When was the last time a Dee kicked a big bag?

Clark kicked five against GWS in the first half, before getting injured. Blease also kicked five, but it's been a while. I hope so too.

Watts kicked 4 a couple of times last year, lots of 2's otherwise

jetta might be better on elliot and garlo on fasolo. sizes match up a bit better too.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
