Not a bad team save for two possibly three inclusions.

How Shannon Bynes gets a game with his modest stats and pre season form staggers me!

Toumpas must consider himself extremely lucky to have got a gig, and Pederson gets a gig only by virtue of lack of other tall options.

I would have had Blease for Toumpas ( easily I cannot how a bloke who can kick brilliant goals in a game and has electrifying pace cannot get a gig)

Jetta for Byrnes and Clisby for Pederson.

My side therefore would look like this

B TERLICH FRAWLEY GRIMES

HB DUNNE MC DONALD CLISBY

C JETTA MICHIE TYSON

HF BAIL FITZPATRICK BLEASE

F HOWE WATTS KENNEDY- HARRIS

R SPENCER JONES VINCE

inter CROSS, GEORGIO, TRENGOVE SUB M JONES

plenty of flexibility and with a bit of X Factor.

Pity I'm not a selector as I reckon this team beats the actual team hands down.

And my thoughts have been vindicated

BYNES Pathetic should be his last game ever for MFC

PEDERSON Clearly not up to it!

TOUMPAS a lucky early goal and a few cheap worthless uncontested possessions roaming around the wing NOT GOOD ENOUGH

WATTS our best Grimes and Trengove badly letting us down with leadership.

At least I can watch this, last year wed be 10 goals down. We are the better side and I think we can still win if we can keep a team on the park.

Tyson is worrying me, poor disposal, forward line is shot! What's happened with Fitzy? Watts has to go forward in the second half. Where did Vince go to in the second quarter? Our midfield is struggling to impose itself. After all that our game plan makes us look a bit better even if we do lose. At least we get possessions and see if players have the skills we need to go forward.

I don't see any problem with our intensity, running patterns, or tackling. Even the 5-6 handballs in a row or the kicking backwards seems to be done at the right time and place. But our kicking is so bad. Turnovers are one thing, but un-pressured turnovers straight to opposition players in space just sets everyone up to fail. And Grimes specifically as captain cannot turn the ball over so badly when under no pressure at all.

Kicking composure needed.

I think people need to chill out. As I said before, we've been winning this game and just not kicking goals to finish. If we keep this up and convert a few of the chances we'll win comfortably. We had at least three easy set shots that were points instead of goals, and that would have us in the lead. The last few years we were down by 50-odd points at this stage and on the way to being thrashed. This is a great improvement and we are showing that we can shut the game down when we need to. Just need to get some forwards on the park.

Got shut down pretty well as a response for Q1- expected. Dont think they can keep it up

Kicked back because of injuries to the forwardine - expected.

Not the end of the world. Expecting a big last half for us.

A bit harsh on Toump given his inexperience but i agree with the alternative in Blease. Toumpas's tempo just isn't up to AFL tempo at this point.

Fully agree with the other 2 as well. Byrnes is a massive weak link and Pederson is, at best, a 5th string (off the bench) backman when all others are injured.

I also don't think we will see Tom McDonald down back once Garland returns. Tom is a handy athlete but that's about it IMO.

Our forward line is way to crowded. I would isolate Howe one on one by asking the HFs to push into the mid and have JHK up there to crumb off Howe and hopefully run amok. We are incapable of finding a target i30 to i40 where most goals are kicked from so run and carry through the middle and past the 50 meter arc is a must if we're to have any chance of winning.

Bernie is the barometer.... As soon as he was tagged out, we started to lose momentum... Watts looks great..... Trengove has stood up, need him to lift a little more... Toumpas showed abit aswell

Haven't seen Howe? Cross hasn't really set the world on fire....

I know I'm being captain obvious here (but seriously who isn't right now) but imagin if we had our big forwards with the way the ball is coming forward tonight. Would be a much better liking score!

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
