Great news. Hope they are not sister airline with Malaysia Airlines..........

Pretty sure the flight was actually one of those joint flights that airlines do together, could be wrong but there was a mention of a link in the reporting, could have been just some pasengers booked through China Southern

Just editing with this cut and pasted from news article

Investigators checking the identities of all the 227 passengers on the flight, particularly those who bought tickets through China Southern Airlines, which is a code share partner with Malaysia Airlines

I was told we were after China Southern at least 4 years ago and i thought it was a lost cause; well done.

At an AGM four years ago CS said it was a few weeks away. Longest few weeks in history Robbie.

Does this mean we are playing games in China again?

LV will be happy he does not have to go.

Jeez Pennant, I was just joshin', but it's almost true!

Anyway, good work PJ.

One thing is for certain... regardless of them being our new sponsor, there is absolutely no way known that I will ever fly with those a-holes ever again after my experience with them when I took my son to the US... three of four flights were delayed, with the only on-time leg being the return from Guangzhou to Sydney. On teh way, the flight left Sydney 2 hours late, the leg from Guangzhou to L.A was cancelled and the counter staff literally ran off leaving us to fend for ourselves and the leg from L.A back to Guangzhou was roughly 4 hours late. After repeated contact with the airline, they refused to take any responsibility or accountability. They are the absolute pits!

Yes, the two passengers flying on stolen passports purchased their tickets through the partner China Southern somewhere in Thailand (Phuket?). The airline failed to run a check against the international database that contains records of all passports reported stolen (aparently this is a very common oversight by many airlines/countries).

No, screw 'em... I will ask the MFC to have a word with them about some form of compensation ;-)

Hartdtack my daughter works for Qantas who do all there boarding etc in Melbourne.

She says the planes are regularly late and the main reason is the air quality in China.

All Chinese airlines regularly arrive late as often the air viability is so bad that the separation between planes is increased so much that they leave and arrive according to Air traffic control.

I know that does not help you but she says anyone going to mainland china on any airline should bank on delays most days.

I was all for them being a sponsor back then, but that was before my last trip with them in 2012. I can understand an airline having delays, but when they refuse to take any responsibility and leave the passengers in a lurch, they lose me completely.

Yes, I understand that OD, although Guangzhou in the south is less prone to such poor visibility... as I mention above, the delay is one thing, but literally running away and leaving your customers to arrange accommodation for the night/ temporary visas etc, is unforgiveable.

The culture of the area hardtack.

I deal with the area on imports from factory s there

As soon as there is a problem there is silence.

No one every admits they are in the wrong, just silence as it is a loss of face.

Not peculiar to Airlines.

Loss of face, silence is normal

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
