Don't any of you simpletons remember who was "most efficacious" ?

No. I forgot all about it while pondering the difference between a simile and a metaphor ... :-)

If this happened after the cats game why did they wait till today to have scans?

While some will say yet another example of MFC incompetence, how about:

sore back, not getting better, better have a closer look, scan.....

This kid hasn't even played an AFL game for us and we are acting like our best player is out.

WHY ME WORRIED?!

Dank &Co, with their medicinal compounds, were aspiring to so be.

Maybe we should start drafting robots to prevent this issue happening again?

So all in all I was dead on in my analysis. DB heard that the kid was in for scans and slapped the worst possible interpretation on it to make it into news. The reality is that he has a fairly minor back complaint and is light duties until it comes good. So sayeth The Club.

Is this DB's first fail of the year?

Cause you don't go booking expensive MRI's after every player has a bit of a sore back from copping a knee into it. You let him rest and wait a few days and then if it doesn't settle you get a scan. It's not like he hasn't been able to walk, he's just had some persistent soreness.

Not that I'm sticking up for DB, but he said Hogan had back issues and would most likely miss the start of the season. Hogan has back issues and will most likely miss the start of the season.

Expensive MRI, I have just had one it was $200 smackers.

Not sure if they charge more for footy clubs but $200 ain't earth shattering tm.

Take your point on waiting a few days though.

My analogy to someone with a big mouth and little else to offer.

Little else to offer, they look graceful when flying, hunt fish and can float.

Much more to offer than Barrett I would say.

Right. I get it that we all hate the guy, but at least use facts otherwise you're the same as him.

I had one on my ankle two days ago at the Epworth in Richmond. $540. So still not cheap

Our club must be cursed!! Everything that could have conceivably gone wrong over the last 3 years has. When will we get some luck?

Was really looking forward to Hogan's debut, with the injury he has sustained this could be weeks to months away.

when we somehow lift the norm smith curse lol

What worries me is that if I remember correctly, we haven't signed Jesse for 2015 yet. (Someone please tell me I'm wrong)

If that's the case, and he has a frustrating, injury riddled season this year, it will diminish our chances of securing him.

If, however, he plays well in a promising team, he is less likely to get homesick.

I'm not repeating what is contained in the first few pages of this thread.

Amazing how many of you turn so quickly from frothing at the mouth, dying to see Hogan play to 'oh, we weren't really going to see him much this year anyway'.

Seriously, just admit you're as [censored] off as the rest of us that he won't be running out in Round 1 and save us all this 'that's just footy' rubbish.

lol, no... its called pulling your head in and being realistic - instead of expecting this 18 year old kid to play 24 games and take out the coleman.

you will see him around round 3-4.

it will be fine.

You're wrong. As he was ineligible to play in his first year due to the mini draft status he's signed for next year as well. Ideally we get him extended by the end of the year so we don't go through Frawley all over again with Hogan. But this injury shouldn't stop him from getting a run of games at some stage. I hope his agent advises him if he's happy in Melbourne it's better for his footy to just sign on and not have to deal with contract speculation as a 20 year old key forward next year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
