I must say I've read worse on here, there has been a bit of abuse but I don't think it's been over the top.

Maybe I missed some posts or they were deleted but it's not the worst thread ever.

I'm sorry those who were insulted because they were over weight, happened to read the comments, it must have been hurtful. I guess it shows that you have to watch your tongue.

I always thought the best thing about supporting the dees was that it didn't matter if you were male, female, short, fat, young, old, tall, skinny, black, white, yellow, missing limbs or brain cells, rich or poor that if your heart beat red and blue then you were part of the club.

I think that's a prerequisite.

Thanks guys - my Ian Zering as Development Coach post is drifting out of the top 10 worst posts.

Seriously, some of the [censored]-for-tat personal attacks on here undermine us as a supporter base. Im all for a good debate but FFS play the ball and not the man.

Do as you please, people are just making cheap shots for a laugh, they don't mean you any harm, you seem to agree with the statements in regard to your physique, next step is to not worry about the comments, you joined this site for a reason, don't over react, stay onboard

Bringing in the Sheep Dear Lord.

What a unifying presence you are for us all.

Words of wisdom as usual Lord. I've been off this site for a day or two (zen sabbatical with the lads) and it seems I've missed a personal abuse thread - disappointing.

Lucky you weren't mentioned on here in the portly category.

The guy who copped it here for carrying a bit had cancer drugs as an excuse.

I'm afraid "all the Shiraz stocks are being drunk by the Chinese nouveau riche and there will be none left for me" is not an excuse anymore.

Maybe we should consider drafting a ruckman who is not always injured or in a "special" group during preseason.

More of the onus to keep fit needs to be put back on these players.

I don't expect bigger players to be outsprinting or out distancing small midfielders but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they need to do the hard yards more consistently without all this moonboot, walking laps, jogging 1/2 laps, catching rebounded tennis balls sort of stuff every year.

The harder they work, the luckier they will get !

Steam, TD.

Sensational drop.

Good work McQueen! Don't get me wrong I like the Hightale also, but you can only have so much of it. Where you can have a good long night on the steam!

Brilliant brewery that place is in Richmond.

Bless you all...now if I could only get my [censored] quote button to work

My internet explorer 10 updated to IE 11 and I lost my quote capacity so I deleted IE 11 and went back to IE 10 and the problem went away.

If you don't know how to change back go onto Google and it will tell you what to do.

I know i have "resigned" from this forum, but reflecting on it i think i owe a further explanation since some here think i am a bit thin skinned and why i was so annoyed by this thread.

I confess Ben_Hur, Twas I.

Three weeks ago i had a serious operation at PeterMacClinic (incidentally a world class hospital with fantastic caring people). As a result of the drugs i needed to take pre-op i put on 15kgs. Since the op, which at the moment seems successful, through strict dieting and exercising (yes bike riding mainly) i have taken off half that. I currently am losing about 3 kgs a week and in 3-4 weeks i expect to be down to the correct weight for a 6'3" 60 year old which is 95kg. At the moment i am overweight. I should not have ridden to training in my old lycra gear ( but i did not expect the fashion police at an early season training session for christ sake, and which will fit me again in three weeks), but you understand bike riding is a key part of my physical recovery - seeing the Demons prosper is a key part of my mental recovery.

This is the last time you will hear from me on this subject. I hope those who were so rude about this, might as a result of my explanation be a bit more nuanced in the future, and think some people might not be as bogan as themselves.

To be fair in all this The Master was commenting on some public bystanders at training. I am not sure he suspected that they would all be Demondlanders. He has been caught out and should have guessed that if you are watching us train at this time of year, the chances are you will be a Demonlander. Oh well there you go, no excuse really but he has been a bit stiff.

By the way is the Master a well known time lord? That may explain a lot of this.

Firstly, I love that this site censors the word T1T. Hilarious.

Secondly, apart from those couple of people who are having it hung on them when they are going through difficult personal circumstances, the rest of you petals need to (1) settle and (2) climb down off those high horses.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe
