Robin Nahas

Oh did we? Guess we cant recruit him now!, A bunch of demonlanders dont like the idea.

You guess right. In case you missed the last 20 odd years, light, outside, undersized opportunists who go missing when the heat is on have seen us lose pretty much every game in which hard-nosed, big-bodied, head-over-the-ball competitive animals were needed to stop us getting monstered.

Nahas appears to have fallen out of favour with the coach, like Ball did with Lyon and more recently Savage with Clarkson.

Had kicked 97 goals from 77 games coming into this season and he's 25.

I'd be happy with getting him as a Delisted FA.

I don't know about Savage falling out with Clarkson, I don't see any evidence that he did, but I do know that Ball, fallen out or not was, is and always will be much better footballer than Nahas.

If the price was right ...PSD ?

We need a small forward..we just do

  • 2 weeks later...

Nahas can't get a game with the tigers because he is a greedy little ego-brat. can't see his team-mates for the goal-posts.

Agreed - forward pocket isn't just a position for rotating midfielders.

i think a few coaches might disagree with this especially this season as the rotation cap comes in

wouldn't be surprised if it is further reduced in coming years

forward flankers and pockets will be increasingly used as midfield rotations

some specialist forwards (non KPF) might survive but they will become rarer

If you want Nahas, even as delisted FA, then you have have list space to fit him in and therefore be prepared to give up pick 57 or Jetta or Nicholson for him.

Not worthy of pick 9 and unlikely to be available at pick 40, how exactly would the "gamble on Garlett" happen?

If we can get him at pick 40, great! And its a gamble on attitude. If not available, oh well!

I'm not sure I'd even give up Nicholson for him. Nahas is a complete spud. How this has gotten to 4 pages is amazing.

Not certain this is a criticism Wretched. Robbo and Brad Green for example weren't noted for giving the ball off if they were within a taxi trip of the goals. Milne and Harvey likewise ( even though I hate both those rats) did likewise. In the past Kevin Bartlett was called Hungry - it goes with the territory.

Ridiculous comment... hope we take him just to p!ss you off. I for one think he would be a good get if he costs us nothing.

He definitely adds something that we don't have, a small crumber with genuine pace.

Love it pants.

Someone tweet that to the [censored].

Tos ser is censored? C'mon man!

Liam Jurrah and Austin Wonaeamirri went all right...until they moved on with their lives.

Not that it matters, but I should have clarified consistency and longevity.

Someone delete this please?

No point talking about it anymore.

Actually we quite often revisit threads like this one when said player carves us up and we passed on an opportunity to sign them for next to nothing.

Complete Spud???

In his best year 2012 (22 games) he averaged 1.6 goals a game from and average of 13 disposals around 36.8 goals for the year (23 rounds), well above our best foward for last year and definately better than any of the existing small forward options mentioned. He made 83 tackles averaging 3.8 a game. Both of these stats are incidently higher than Jack Kings. He is definately not a spud and crumbing around our talls kicking 36 goals for a late draft pick in my opinion would be a good thing.

There is obviously a reason King is preferred at the Tiges but I back in Roos to make him the player we need and I recon he would be a great pick up for the Dees.

Clearly missed the earlier post where he joined North.

Nahas might have been handy but I'd rather develop an extra midfielder each week. Plus I think we really need 3 draft picks in the ND.

I wouldn't be using King as the benchmark for anything, the Tiges are going nowhere until he is moved on.

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
