"Last Day of a Dismal Demon Era"

RB. 2 years ago you were one of the most upbeat positive posters on here.

To read your above post makes me really angry at this club. The levels of incompetence that we have been subjected to.

With NO explanation at all. 7 years of stinking failure...

We as real supporters must be bloody hard on this club now. Force it to become smart and hungry.

I have re read sone of Mclardy's "Letters to Members"..They are just so bad. Not a word about what was really happening.

Next summers AGM must be the new start.

Hang in there Ron.

What would you like explained?

Why we are terrible? Why our list is shizen? Or do you just want to know how to get better?

Drafting is the answer to all of the above.

still thinking its an odd thing to say. ( re OP)

For any number of reasons and events and additions etc the club may or may not be taking any particularly large strides in 14 let alone kissing the doldrums goodbye.

Sure we ought to work a bit different but to suggest the end of one era is to presuppose the next. Eras are often talked of in terms of key elements, invariable people and more often a person. i.,e it was the so and so era.

So if we are about to launch ourselves into a new era, who is that person ?

It strike me it is someone Gerald knows or knows of well to up the ante in such a way as to predict a new ERA !!

or it could be fluff. Struck me he was definitely hinting at something/someone.

again, we'll know soon enough :)

Sure. But why did we fcuk it up so badly each year?

All those responsible have left in silence.

Gives me the trots.

They don't mean to. With the best of intentions they picked the wrong 18 year olds.

I know you want someone to flaggelate for not doing their jobs properly but with the best of intentions those at the club couldn't pick the good teenagers when it mattered most.

That's it - no malice, just well-meant mistakes.

We move on and hope that Hogan, Toumpas, Kent, Jones, Clisby, and Terlich will be considered a success a few years from now.

So... all those responsible are gone... but you want answers from those that have come in to replace them, or those that are still there but weren't responsible for that area?

Do you ever have a single coherent thought?

Gerard Whateley knows nothing about who our next coach will be

the guy is a clown who has embarrassed himself constantly throughout the Essendon drug saga

With all due respect HH do you know this for a fact or are you sumising on the basis of his sumising ?? ( convoluted I know, apologies..lol )

He does work in the industry. He may well know something. He may not, granted, but I cant say he knows nothing.

if Jesus Christ is appointed head coach, expect this guy to get a game.

Reminds me of a great quote.

"I'm fookin' Lazarus."

No i actually wanted answers from those responsible.

I don't blame those who have just arrived. Don't be ridiculous.

We have strong good supporters like Ron B who are losing the passion quickly because of pathetic decisions made over a 7 year period. 7 years, not one.

And all of them walked in silence.

It stinks big time, and here is a good place to say it!!

I tend to agree with you wyl

However I think the silence says it all.

I decided a couple of weeks ago to move on.

Try and put the "idiots period" behind you I know it is hard but whats to gained.

I would like to make a statement at the AGM

It is probably going to take me the five months between now and then to condense a decade of disasters into a two minute comment.

My father told me that the haters end up worse off than the hated.

He should have known he fought the Japanese on the kododo track but ended up buying Japanese cars etc.

If the dees have a winning season in 2014 it will be the greatest comback since ...........

I just want a season were I don't spend half my time shaking my head while watching the game.

Oh and the wife laughing at me when I tell her the final scores.

I totally agree OD.

My point is these Fools just gone are making lifelong supporters like Ron consider chucking it all in.

That's like cutting ties with family.

That is what disgusts me.

well on fox footy

gerard presented somebody with the absolute truth about AOD,case closed said gerard

2 days later ,no evidence that gerard or his so called top witness have any evidence, gerard surprisingly has never spoken about this

gerads continual, barracking for Essendon has been embarrassing and turned off many viewers

but don't take anybodies word for it,they had mthompson on and DIDNT ask the questions that the whole footy world would like answers to,instead talked about james strength and heroic ways.pass the beer nuts .gwhateley has lost all faith

Last day???? We pathetic demon supporters trot out this optimistic line at the end of every unsuccessful season ( and there has been plenty of those). Then we go into a madly optimistic preseason. Then we get smashed in round 1 and It's al downhill from there.

I'm not going to be positive or optimistic until I pay up to buy final tickets.

FMD - I've had over 50 years of this [censored].

Sadly (stupidly?) my credit card will soon take a whack for my $500+ trident membership.

Even more stupidly, I'll probably drink myself to death before I see a Demon premiership.

That sounds like an awesome name for our next coach. ;) The Herald Sun would have a field day with the double entendres. lol

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
