Firstly Crawf Can I have my heart attack on the sunday I would like a few hours of celebration mate!

Second the problem is not that I entend to go anytime soon it is more about the length of the journey that the MFC will need to make.

IMO our list is such that it is going to take a decade to get to a GF if all things go well.

In my view very few of the current list are capable of AFL standard football and the majority of the ones that are will be too old by 2024.

We are currently in the position of a new team joining the AFL in 2014. A long journey awaits.

Your request for an extension is granted.

I'm a little more optimistic than you. Whilst I can see what you're saying, I don't agree that the list is as bad as you think. With some culling at season's end, and some judicious drafting, we could be knocking on the door of the top 16 next year. In 2015 I expect to see further culling and the addition of some more free agents to bring us up to a standard that we see us replacing Richmond in 9th place. After that, the sky is the limit. I predict a return to greatness some time before the end of this decade. That will leave me on the good side of 70 and, hopefully, still fit enough to celebrate in a 'wildish' fashion.

I'm assuming this was a typo? :) "Knocking on the door of the top 16". So, 17th. Daring to dream.

If you meant knocking on the door of the top 8, this club is a gazillion miles away from that. Without some major coups in the trade period and injection of genuine talent into the midfield, I'm not expecting next year to be much different to this one.

Viney has gotten me through 2013. I suspect Hogan will be playing a similar role in 2014.
