Privately, the club has said it would only consider a trade deal if rivals are prepared to trade a top-five pick or player of the calibre of Port star Ollie Wines or Brisbane’s Pearce Hanley.

The more I hear about this club the more gobsmacked I become.

Are they OTFM's?

Ryder should walk. Take them to court, tell the truth and sue the FWits

Can we trade him for Toumpas? Top 5 pick and often compared to Wines. They will have a great deal.

Copy of an email discussion with a rabid bomber fan. I suggested that my prefered outcome was that evidence was produced that proved the players took nothing illegal and we all got back to playing footy. The following was the response

Sadly those records you talk about do exist, they have been submitted to ASADA however the AFL requested that they be removed from the interim report as it didn’t suit their purpose of ‘bringing the game into disrepute’. The boys have been told (by EFC, ASADA investigators and AFLPA) that they weren’t administered banned substances, they know every substance that they used, they have records for it all. Dank confirmed twice to the ACC (under their rules) that no TB4 was used at Essendon. Do think the media would publish this? NO it doesn’t suit their agenda. All the info is there in the Fed Court submissions.

So why do we have SCN’s – I have NFI but KPI’s for ASADA keep coming up.

This person who is not stupid honestly believes that ASADA are pursuing Essendon in opposition to the available evidence to ensure they meet there key performance indicators????????

Its absurdly fascinating that people are reacting this way.

bd, i think you badly need to revise your definition of stupid :)

Sadly, Bombers' fans ability to be deluded is simply extraordinary.

I know a couple who similarly believe that they've done no wrong, the club will be vindicated, Hird is a saint, Little a brilliant man, etc, etc, the list goes on and on.

They're simply deluded, to the point of being comical.

It was Kevin Sheedy's Martians who mixed up the substances.

Saw Sheedy on tele the other day, he still makes absolutely no sense when he speaks. Its not hard to see who the whole club ended up nutty

Lemmings spring to mind. Not that lemmings actually do anything usual, except in folklore.

Apparently the other club Presidents are of the view that the Essendon President and his Board should go. Lot of anger among them.

No surprise there.

I guess it is not surprising Redleg they are making the league look poor on a national and international stage.

Not all - I have a couple of bombers acquaintances who are seething at the club's actions in response to what happened.

On the other hand, much of what you see posted around the net leaves me gobsmacked. e.g. there are plenty still pedalling the "no positive test results, therefore they must be innocent" line.

I need this view explained to me.

The denial contingent is big on bomberblitz but more insane that that. In fact some of the posts there make the most extreme conspiracy theories of our wackiest Demonland members look relatively rational.

I need this view explained to me.

I'll give it a try.

The players are distancing themselves from the club. This is an effort to be able to do a deal with ASADA.

The words said by Watson merely add to the smoke and mirrors we have already seen. But I do see a shift away from the club.

I need this view explained to me.

Players distancing themselves from the club's legal action to ensure that if there is a deal to be done, they can still say they co-operated. Problem is that in the context of gettng a discount, co-operation means doing so to the point where they assist ASADA in achieving a sanction against another person or organisation. They're not exactly doing that, are they?

Imagine Bomber players start turning informant against their club to save their skins- which they are in their rights to do- just imagine the division it will create on every level, it would be bedlam muahahaha,

Imagine Bomber players start turning informant against their club to save their skins- which they are in their rights to do- just imagine the division it will create on every level, it would be bedlam muahahaha,

which is what they should have done a year ago...might have meant something then.

Idiots are cheaper by the dozen it appears !!!

I hope Essendon show some decency when dealing with Ryder. ...........

Frankly, I find it quite amusing to see those two words in the same sentence

One of my favourites - an absolute classic

Interesting tidbit in the press.

Gill suggested to Little that it would help players if they voluntarily stepped down from playing for a few weeks.

Little apparently didn't even pass on the suggestion to the player's reps.

I can't see why, or how for that matter. IF the involved players were to step down for a few weeks, they couldn't field a team. And what could it really achieve?

Saw Sheedy on tele the other day, he still makes absolutely no sense when he speaks. Its not hard to see who the whole club ended up nutty

Maybe he wasn't on "the good stuff" ?

Yeah but players would have been assured by dons that everything was alright at the time and there's no need to panic, I think a football environment is almost cult like and it would be easy to brainwash players into believing all is good.

Now they are realising that they de been lied to by "men with big egos and fat wallets" and they want out.

I want to see Essendrugs burn as much as the next person, but at the end of the day, the players were duped. I would be shocked if any player knowingly took banned substances, why commit career suicide?

Dank admitted giving beta 4 in that interview before he knew it was banned . Damning evidence .

Ask Lance Armstrong maybe.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
