Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Sorry, I'm getting tired of posts that simply say "there's a rumour circulating" and providing nothing more concrete such as where this rumour is circulating. I have seen nothing on any of the popular social media outlets (Twatter & Farcebook) and nothing in the press. Please point us at the source of these "rumours".

So they lose one coach and gain a even better one? What a punishment.

Paul Roos is an amazing man. Can't wait to see how he coaches Melbourne, West Coast and Essendon next year.

He's so amazing in fact, that he has done a deal with the AFL to have the three aforementioned teams merged.

Imagine how many teams he'd be coaching if he *was* interested in coaching again!

He was father of the year. He can do anything except say 'yes' or 'no'

Further to this, I have it on good authority that in order to accommodate Roos (such is his influence), the AFL will have this team relocated to the southern suburbs of Sydney where they will be rolled in with the Cronulla NRL club.

This thread is silly - its just the same as the other 10 Essendon threads (just merge with the Hird to stand down or be thread - the circumstances haven't changed yet)

He is still denying it: (but then again some deny the holocaust and moon landing)

He says he has now seen the report so it will only be a matter of days before he denies the existence of the report ;)

My uncles best mates half cousins fiance is Courtney Dempseys gardener and he said he asked for the lawn to be left for a few weeks which obviously symbolises that he is waiting for the "Roos" to come in and fix everything.

I was so close to believing you, until I realized that it's impossible to have a half cousin!

Really I thought basically anything was possible with inbreeding!

Hahaha!! That is a good rumour.

When Essendrug get done and it ends up with WADA they will not be attractive to coach at all.

People will be running away at full speed.

The rumour circlng around at the moment is that Ricciuto was right in relation to James Hird. Furthermore I am hearing that the reason for Paul Roos not saying he will "not" coach is because Essendon have lined him up in the event Hird is forced to stand down. He is intersted in the Melbourne job but his preference is at Essendon and is awaiting the developments at Windy Hill.

Ricciuto was advised of the rumour by fellow team mate whom works there at the moment. Shouldnt be too hard to guess who this is?!

Watch this space......

I get the feeling from Hirds arriving @ work interview today, that his tones were he will stand down... & I think this week. But I think he'll announce privately to the players just before the match, & then coach the game...

I think next week the shyte will hit the propellers, & will be everywhere around the hanger.

He looked pretty relaxed to me - I know he took ballet lessons but did he have acting lessons?

At least he will be able to give us a nice little curtsey on his way out.

Have you hird? the AFL's going to merge the 3 clubs into a super club, with 1Sts, 2 Nds, & 3 Rds...

I don't think Hird is not going to step down!

Looks like Essendon could very nearly get away with murder: what a joke! (worse than the Melbourne tanking saga)

Penalties not discussed: Finnis

AFL PLAYERS Association boss Matt Finnis says he has been given no indication that Essendon players will receive infraction notices as he prepares to meet with the Bombers on Thursday.

The AFLPA lawyers have read ASADA's interim report into Essendon's 2012 supplements program and will answer questions from the Dons' playing group at Windy Hill.

Finnis, who is yet to read the 400-page report, said he was encouraged that ASADA investigators had recognised "culpability at the end of the day must lie with those who are most responsible".

However, he could not guarantee players would escape without individual sanctions.

"I've got no information before me that would suggest that is going to happen, but clearly ASADA have labelled the report as interim, so I don't think we can rule that out," he said.

"That's unfortunate, but it's the reality.

"Now that the players' lawyers have seen a copy of the report, I'm sure the players will have some interesting questions for their lawyers in relation to where things go from here.

"Clearly it's an opportunity for us to provide an update to the Essendon players on the events of the last couple of weeks."

Finnis said he had not heard whether charges were going to be laid against Essendon as a club this week, and he was confident the AFL would not "pre-judge" the case before all parties had put their case forward.

He said any individual penalties that didn't recognise the faith Essendon players put in their doctors and high performance coaches could cause the public to lose faith in the system.

"Players do accept responsibility under the WADA code for the role that they play in ensuring that performance is clean," he said.

"But we've also got to recognise that players put enormous trust and faith in people who are going to have expertise in governing their supplements program.

"From the moment players come into the game, they're told to follow the directions of their club, the medical officers.

"Our players have done that. So I think any system that fails to recognise that in the way in which you respond to the situation, I think will lose public confidence."

And in case you hadn't noticed, most of which are taking the Michael out of the OP.

This place has double standards big time, talk about a boys club!

Clearly everyone is mercilessly taking the [censored] out of the OP.

It's not about it being a boys club, it's about rightly mocking stupid threads.

Hogan is contracted until the end of 2015.

What is your problem??

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
