So what would you like to see from the new coach and in proxy the players next season?

Personally, I want to see effort from the players every single week, which means the coach is instilling the will to play and win into them. As well as that, a minimum of 6 wins (which could be ambitious, have to aim high though), a workable game plan (with flair), improved skills and leadership from senior players on the field.

Depending on the coach we might only get a couple or all of the above.

The main thing though for me is passion on the field and effort. Too long have we been limp, not stood up for each other, not played with any intent and aggression or played for each other as a unified group. I do think that either Roos or Williams would be the best coaches to improve this aspect. They have a hard task though as it will be mighty hard to instill some hope and energy into the side after so many kicks in the guts.

Anyway, as is usual for a Dees supporter, I'm looking forward to next season long before it starts. What do you want to see?

No 1. Contested possessions, possession count, clearances and tackles all on an upward curve.

JV deliver a big bump on James Kelly.

Let's not forget Mitch 'Fish' Robinson either, he needs a good belt around the head. All of the above then

Personally I would like to see a forward line of Dawes, Clark, Hogan, Watts, Fitzy, Howe and then an elite midfield to kick it to them!

Players enjoying playing for the MFC, playing with passion and enthusiasm and courage and leading us out of the worst position the club has ever being in, might only be baby steps but some obvious steps in the right direction!

Jack trengove with his zip back would also be nice.

Coach: Paul Roos

- Coach Paul Roos

- No 100 point loses

- No more than 5 +60 loses

- A forward line of Hogan, Dawes, Clark, Fitzy and Watts

- Watts to improve

- Strauss and Tapscott to become regulars

- Viney and Toumpas to pass Wines

-

-

I could go on but I don't think it will do much except for get me over hopeful

2nd efforts as standard

Seeing what a consecutive win would do to DL

I think half of demonland would just explode and the other half would probably complain because we are so used to being angry haha

Since you asked, I am more than happy to oblige... the woman pictured is the late great Edith Massey in her role as Edie the egg lady from the film "Pink Flamingos", directed by baltimore's favourite son, the great John Waters who was also responsible (and I use that term very loosely) for (bullet list via Wikipedia):

He also had a guest spot in the Simpsons among other things and was the creator of the film Hairspray which was later released again starring Travolta and was made into a successful stage musical. The only exposure Edith Massey really had in the mainstream, was probably the old Johnny Cougar (before he became John Cougar Mellencamp) clip for his hit song "This Time"... she was the object of his affections.

Aah yes. Pretty Flamingo's i saw at the Astor Theatre with Polyester in '81(my god was it really that long ago!!)

Polyester was in "smellovision"..with each ticket a scratch & smell card was given. Numbers flashed on the screen when to scratch!!!

John Waters.....a strange person!!

I want more development from our first year players (I believe Neeld did do some good recruiting and drafting), I want a midfield that can run out a match competitively, I want a coach that instills belief into not only our players but our whole club and most of all I want to see our club gain the respect it deserves from the football community. No more can we be the club that will easily be kicked about and bullied, we need to be the club others strive to be. I know that won't happen within a season but the next 12 months are very very important for the future of our club.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
