There seems to be a lot of smokes and mirrors atm.

Hope we don't burn Chocco, Eade and Craig just to satisfy the media, will be disappointed if that's the case.

Does Peter Jackson strike you as someone who'll pander to the media, or any other external parties ?

Posters must sit around pondering different ways things can go pear shaped and then share it with the world.

The other thing that doesn't cease to amaze me is the absense of thought given by posters to the timetable. I would like to know when the last time a new coach was finalised and announced at the 3/4 mark of the current season. (The only thing that has been strongly hinted at is we want an experienced man) This timetable is especially significant in our case considering we are searching for a head of football, new president, board members, AFL $$ and possible special draft picks. I am sure all prospective coaches have noticed these missing pieces and even Roos' with his "not at the moment" comment may turn out to be "not interested at all" by seasons end but I am sure he like all others have some sort of interest on how all these missing pieces will fall.

We are burning no one. There need to be some understanding by posters that nothing will be finalised until season end.

It's just a very good thing that you don't do that BH.

Why is Choco second best?

Not everyone thinks he is

But the band wagon has a lot of folk clinging to the notion that its Roos or bust

Hes the darling , not the nutty whacko . Its not de rigueur apparently to want the nut.

Peter Jackson.

My hero.

I'd counsel you against hero worship, or unnecessarily elevating the status of others, but I accept it's a modern day phenomenon.

Fawning will only strengthen your insecurities.

For me he is a close second to Roos, they have similar sorts of records, but Roos had a hand in the great culture at the swans and that is exactly what we want/need, having said that if it were announced tomorrow we were going to be coached by any of the big four, Roos, choco, eade or craig i would not be at all unhappy with any of the above and i am very confident we will get one of them.

seeing as there is no antonym for pear-shaped what is one supposed to do then?

No. I'm above such petty thinking.

You are a deep thinker BH. There's no denying it.

I'm right thanks - best you stay on your side of the world.

There already is one here.

My mistake Deeman. Apologies. I was thinking more along the line of a thread where BH has sole editing rights based on what he determines as meritorious. It just needs a name.

He said deep thinkers, nor deep drinkers.

what...theres a difference ?? :o

If we throw even more at roos and he does take it, what does that say about roos. I get the feeling it's mostly about money when he keeps saying 'not for now'.

If he took it he is a hypocrite.

Sorry, but this is just BS.

If Roos was only in it for the money, then he would have taken the Carlton job. A squad in a better position and a better resourced club. They offered him more than a million, he knocked it back.

The money will be a bonus for Roos, but it will not be the reason for him coaching next year, if he does.

He has proven that.

Roos will not coach Melbourne, and Melbourne has moved on from Roos.

I think Craig is odds on to get the job, although I think it might be a mistake.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
