Jobe took banned drug

Featured Replies

I have no sympathy. At some point he must have asked his old man. Dad...is this [censored] kosher ? what do you reckon dad ?

Tim cant convince me he wouldnt have been in a position to ask a few quiet questions of the "right' people.

Jobe, you signed, you allowed it....wear it.

Admitting it is actually quite commendable. The only one really to come out on the front foot , so to speak, Reimers being the exception probably.

We got canned for something we didnt even offically do. Adelaide got canned for something it DID do. Essendon can , for all I care, pull its pants down and get prepared for a spanking !!

I suspect the Jesuits at Xavier College don't spend a lot of time educating their students about what's kosher and what isn't.

Conversely, not a lot of Jewish kids have made it onto AFL lists, although there have been a few including Ezra Poyas, Mordy Bromberg, Henry Ritterman and most famously, Ian Synman.

It appears from the Eagles game that Jobe will cry if he gets picked on during a game.

Who is the MFC best slegger and when can he play on Jobe?

I predict the MFC will only lose by 80 points the next time it plays the EFC if it can use a few new tactics.

I can see him crying now!

Also my nephew is an EFC supporter and what message are they sending him.

Protect our youth by sending a strong and clear message that the use of Illegal Drugs in sport is not acceptable.

I feel sorry for your nephew, but if you can collect some of his tears that would be great. I want to taste them.

Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness! My-yummy!

It will be a life leason for him I guess.

I told him when he was younger he had to support the blue and red!

Youth, they just don,t listen to good advice.

What ever it takes Mate.

The 4 points are on the line.

LOL

Essendon President David Evans went on line on Bomber TV to address his club's members seeking to clarify the situation with regard to player use of peptides but, if anything, the fans would be more confused than ever. Pure spin when there was no need to say anything.

Who are the parties "external to the club" who have an involvement in this sad saga? Why go into the area of whether or not AOD-9604 is performance enhancing when that issue is irrelevant to the investigation?

Worse still, by failing to clarify anything at all, Evans leaves it open for the journos to place their own spin on things in order to clarify the clarification.

Wow, and we copped a $500k fine for not tanking but employing officials who told wry jokes about it.

Go figure?

Fine Essendon $5 Million!

Unless they have written permission from asada that they could take the drug, they need bans.

Not fines

Not point deductions

2 year player bans.

"But the doc said it was ok"

So did lance armstrongs doctor.

"But it wasnt performance enhancing"

Why take it then? Why is it banned?

Sorry but unless they have permission from asada or wada they SHOULD be goooone.

jobe admitted cheating, shouldnt be playing this weekend

You need tears from someone else being a Melbourne supporter? I would have thought ours most bitter

Yes I read that and thought... hmmmmmmm , all thats required is to get substantiation of Beta 4 being in play here and its goodnight !!

Raises the ante from a drug being in the sorta grey zone though blanket covered in its not approved cat to a drug specifically known and banned for performance enhancing.

What a juicy can of worms we have.

BOOM!

Send what is left of the Bummers to Tassie!

I agree but you can't have different punishments for different levels. That is extreme double standards and would be like if two guys each murdered someone but one was a celebrity and one was jus a normal person and they got a harsher penalty because they weren't a celebrity. I hope the AFL come down hard to show that this is not tolerated no matter who you are. If they don't well then it will be another example of the AFL trying to be a law onto themselves and a corrupt business.

OJ Simpson says hi

Dank will probably claim a second letter that completely exonerates all parties, but will refuse to show it to anyone.

"Cause it's MY letter!"

End of Financial Year SALE!

The EFC has a few hundred boxes of unwanted chemical substances it need to dispose of in a hurry'

Hugh discounts available as everything must go.

LOL

I can't believe Evans said that! Why sat anything at all?

Presumably Essendon is using a PR firm and that firm suggested it. And probably wrote, or at least vetted, the script. The better question might be, why does the PR firm think it is in Essendon's best interests for the President to speak publicly now? The timing hints at the possibility Essendon was aware of The Age front page story today and wanted to get some positive spin out there in advance.

ok I will take you very slowly over the facts

footy clubs are made up of president committee coaches and players

the so called scientific people are a side line and make suggestions to the coach about injury recovery and training ideas, its then up to the coaching panel to sort out which idea they use ITS THIER CHOICE

now as for the players, what galah would allow HIMSELF to be injected up to 50 times in the abdomen and think its normal and not ask questions.

we teach our children to be aware of leaving drinks unattended at nightclubs, don't get in cars with drivers who have been drinking, etc etc

and these buffoons allow themselves to be INJECTED

sorry no excuses, 10 years penalty for the coach and all players

then they can explain to their children how stupid they were and maybe teach them right from wrong

also this will serve as an example to all future players

DONT FEEL SORRY FOR THEM

write letters to the dailys

don't let these imbeciles soften the penalty or get away with it

they INJECTED and now want to say it was harmless

Four, if you include Nick McKenzie whose name appears at the bottom of the article. Mind you, Baker and McKenzie (the journos, not the law firm) are a bit like Lennon and McCartney. Both are credited with writing what perhaps only one really produced. (And, for trivia freaks, it's 50 years this week since The Beatles recorded "She Loves You")

They are screwed, hahaha. Kind of feel sorry for Goddard walking into that rabble. Wait no I don't, what was I thinking.

Anywho they'll be striped of their points and their finals finish, which is why AFL want the investigation finished by late August. Delicious. No doubt they will be stripped of draft picks in next years draft as you can't benefit out of a penalty. Also how many players will be on the sidelines for how long?

Potentially this little affair can cripple the Dons for the next decade. Their reputation is already ruined as is that of the Golden Boy. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving club hahah.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
