WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

My money is now on Roos to not coach anywhere.

I think he's enjoying the attention, and reassuring himself with the mantra that he is not stringing anyone along, he is merely doing his best to be absolutely honest beyond reproach.

It's not as honourable as he might like to think.

I think it was Footy Classified Monday where Hutchy said Roos was on $1.3m already, with all of his different jobs. He is on TV, a motivational speaker, a clomnist and does some lesser level coaching, that i know of.

If that is true, he clearly doesn't need the money.

If he is not 100% motivated to coach, end of story.

All the attention probably hasnt done his brand any harm. His rate will be steadily climbing as new negotiations come around.

Im still trying to get my head around what our next step is in terms of coaching. Seems to be morphing

My money is on Paul Roo's to coach Brisbane. Especially if this new rumour of him resigning from the Swans Academy is true.

  • He has definitely admitted the Brisbane coaching job has interested him, purely due to his ties with the Lions.
  • He also stated he will not move till both his boys finish school (Tyler has exams in 2 months, then all finished)
  • He did tell Malcolm Homes he was not comfortable discussing coaching roles while Voss was still in the position.
  • Michael Voss gets stood down by the Brisbane Lions, for no major reason except 'change'.

I am more a fan of Craig than Eade, though like most, I will support whoever the club decides on.

paul roos will not be a coach in 2014, now the question is who is option 2 for us and the lions, imo its eade and williams, craig might be a good fit for brisbane?

Roos has told the Swans Academy he won't be continuing with them.

"During last night's game they said Paul Roos would not be with the Swans Academy next year ....."

Can't find an official link yet, but this info is taken from a Swans forum:

Plot. Thickens.

Now Stuie, because I have a serious "man crush" on you I'll thicken the plot further. Two weeks ago I was told by a 40 year member of the MFC that Roos as coach was a "done deal''. The source is a sensible level headed bloke who has been reliable in the past. Make of it what you will but, for the moment, just keep it between us.

i still have nightmares about the address he gave to the group just prior to getting belted by 143 points

i reckon my mother would be a better senior coach

I dont believe in the whole Rodney Eade job is already a done deal. Rocket mention he only had a 10 minute meeting and wasnt sure if the MFC were gonna call him back again. Seemed that even he doesnt know if he will get the gig.

10 minute meeting and no call back? Sounds more rigorous than our previous appointments.

Voss had 40% win-loss record and hasn't made finals for the past four years. Favourite son or not results speak volumes.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
