Ok maybe it's just me but every week the club trots out a VFL review by one of the assistant coaches about the guys at Casey. Now it's a bit school report version usually with possession and whether they tried hard or not but people pick up on comments and run with them.

To me it's not fair that the developing and the struggling players on our list have their games analyzed weekly whilst the lucky 22 who come in and play each week escape it. Obviously they get a whole bunch more scrutiny in the media and AFL games are more accessible but for me if it's fair for the battlers it should be fair for the guys playing seniors.

Maybe Mark Neeld could sit down for 10 minutes weekly and trot out a few lines. That way at least the players can't complain he's never giving them feedback. It will be there for all to see on the lovely melbournefc.com.au

What do you say about players who constantly produce 10+ goal defeats over the last 29 games.

In the clubs defence what on earth would you say week after week?

well there is a lot of school teacher types on demonland

maybe he doesnt have 10 minutes to spare for the players

and thinking while the dishes get done is certainly school teacherish behavior

I think it's mainly because not many Dee supporters would get to watch Casey games and therfore the club is trying to keep the supporters up to date.

And also it would be pretty hard to make many positive statements/reviews on players performance - I guess we have the Craig report though.

We already get a 100 page report on here every week anyway but it would be nice to here player reviews from Neeld each week (even if it is just fluff!)

You think because a player review PR piece is not put on the website Neeld isn't giving player feedback?

The VFL player reviews are there as an update for fans who are most likely unable to watch the VFL game on the weekend. Every MFC match is televised!

Yeah, I always gathered the VFL report was more of an off-beat, "this is what you missed" kind of thing, because no one watches VFL, let's be honest.

^ As above. They're assuming that you watched the game, so you probably know how the players went.

Not sure you have to watch a match these days Nasher.

We general know pretty much what will happen on Thursday night.

I actually think I prefer no comment, that probably says all we need to know at present

What else do you need? We all ready have the swag of puff pieces from Burgatron (Monday Analysis, 5 Points from round X, typed up versions of the post match video interviews etc etc) + the Craig Report.

The website has enough nothing articles without a watered down player analysis of the AFL side

Well my perspective is more why do the youngest and least successful members of the team get their games discussed. Seems a double standard.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
