Out of contract, PSD pick for sure!

Is this possible?

I assume the PSD draft order is the same as Nab AFL draft order. If this is possible we could offer him money that GC couldn't and pick him up with pick 1-3 of PSD. But he would probably be hated for it by GC fans if he left for nothing.

In any case get it done Melboune - he is the perfect age bracket and has proven potential

Their fan base will only grow (while ours shrinks)

I don't think many high draft picks would just walk out on their club for nothing - sounds like something that would happen to us though

Pass on that one big time, but we could repatriate all our Queenslanders.

Tell you what, I'd almost go Prestia for TMac, straight swap.

It's enough for people to be suggesting Dion Prestia... but to say Shiel as well??

If Prestia's family have some ties at the club there's a tenuous link but why the hell would Shiel want to come to us (over ANY of the other 17 clubs) and why would GWS let him go?

I know we need a good news story / hope at the moment but this is ridiculous - we're only setting ourselves up to be disappointed. I'm not saying it's not worth trying but let's not get carried away!

With a name like yours, you are quite the contrarian! ;)

All this talk about taking him in the PSD relies on the assumption that Prestia wants to come to Melbourne, and that is a big assumption...

Gold coast are better than melbourne, why would he want to come here?

Why would he, Neeld has just said we are 5 years away. Way to attract players.

Yep, not a great tactic in terms of recruiting.

How the hell are we supposed to keep players like Chip and Garland when Neeld is spouting crap like that? I know it is probably true but he should have just kept his mouth shut.

Get a decent proven coach which will happen at the end of the season. I know that Prestia was linked to Essendon on draft night with Atley but Heppell drifted and obviously we are happy at that.

If you could get a deal done and doesn't cost too much Melbourne should jump at it. Just remember Essendon wanted Caddy and they went to AFL mediation and nothing happened. I think for memory we offered a draft pick and Pears or Hooker and they wanted Hurley.

imagine Prestia reading the news and seeing that Neeld wants 5 years to build a competitive team

you think hes going to come here now?

Hardly worth noting now because so much has changed but Neeld was able to convince Clark to join the MFC when home-sick with an offer from his home town club.

Prestia looks a smart player.

Prestia, Thomas and so on, the players we desperately need to avoid 5 more years of torture, as well as Toumpas, Kent, Matt jones, Terlich thinking maybe they were better off in the VFL.

Wonder of they'd be interested in sellar or Gillies?

Maybe we gan get Gazza & Jäger for those two players. Stranger things have happened... Dawes for pick 20.

I was thinking about joining Melbourne but then we smashed them and Neeld said they are 5 years away.Stuff that. I'll stay here.

After watching the Suns tonight I'd be surprised if any of them were going anywhere, they are going to be magnificent.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
