The club has a food news story with Chris Dawes playing his first game for the Dees. He gets interviewed and is pumped for the occasion as I am. Then this happens: http://www.thepeptalk.com.au/the-crap-i-put-up-with-barracking-for-melbourne/

Who else is copping it from every angle?

Nothin' like a good, 'food news' story !!!

especially when 'Bruce' reckons its Deelish...

{"I saw blood!"

"Then I told him that he can’t spell (check ‘entraining’ not entertaining’) and get stuffed!"}

First world problems...

I enjoyed giving the Pies [censored] when balls where bouncing off his chest last year.
Opposition supporters will enjoy doing the same thing whilst he plays for us.

Glasses of concrete all 'round.

Uh . . . question. Who the hell is this guy and why should we care what he thinks?

Ah me, a supporter and member like you. Just because I don't post as often as you doesn't mean I can share my experiences. A little bit of respect for a fellow supporter would be appreciated the same way you would like it.

So you put up an ad for your own blog? Why not just post the damn thing on this website? Usually when people link to other websites, they are linking to the Herald Sun or the Age or a reputable news outlet, not their own blogs.

No offence, but surely a lifetime of being on the receiving end of stuff such as this has hardened you up, just a little?

I'm not here to cause any problems and next time I will post the full article on Demonland. This happened today and I was just sharing it with everyone. Thank you for your supporting comments. Go Dees.

It has but sometimes.......ARGH!

Nothing wrong with that article, he is just another fed up Demons supporter and rightfully so.

What we are copping this year shouldn't be acceptable.

Thanks. That was all I was wanted to express was the frustration. The Bulldogs are getting off scott free.

We're 'copping it' because one guy writes a bit of a rant on some small-time website..?

You should have just linked to one of the posts on Demonland.

You seriously think all Bulldogs fans are happy with how they're travelling? Take a look at some other forums to see how wrong that is.

PS. I'm sure you'll find Bombers fans giving it to their players after tonight's game.

More of a comparison. We have had all the media attention due to out poor record but the Dogs have one more victory over the same time. It was more about getting some good news from the club and then getting smashed by supporters from other teams. I could have linked to other posts but it was my experience which is like the ones others have written about.

I reckon this sums it up pretty well:

Melbourne 56.1%

Bulldogs 72.8%

We've been disgustingly bad. Furthermore, we've been rubbish for longer than the Bulldogs. We also just sacked our CEO. Why shouldn't we get more negative attention?

As an aside, the coverage of us post-Carlton was fairly positive re: our effort, despite the fact that we got pounded by 10 goals.

Why worry about other supporters when you can come on here for a pounding from your own.

Its seriously disgraceful the way we eat our own on here.

We all cop it enough without the crap our own give each other.

On top of that many here are happy to put their opinion up as fact but when a guy puts up how bad he feels as we all do we lay into him???

Stick together and look after each other should be our mantra right now, we need each other for support and therapy if nothing else!!

All clubs supporters "eat their own" when the team is going badly. It's a function of the emotional investment people put in their footy teams. It's great that you have the emotional control not to get angry or upset or want to lash out, but don't carry on as if getting narky with each other or getting narky with the club when it is down is unique to Melbourne. It's not.

Totally agree. We as supporters are easy targets from other teams. If there is one place to stick together it is here in this forum.

Not sure where I said it is uncommon or unique to Melbourne....

I agree with your statement others are the same. Of course this is symptomatic of any team that is performing poorly and disfunctional.

I propose that for once we are not like every other team of supporters because of the way we look after each other when things aren't great. Let's face it the problem with Melbourne is as much to do with the fractures within the club and we see similar cultural symptoms play out here. What if we were different and recognised for the positives about the supporter base?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion no doubt, but it is of course how it is expressed and conveyed that can make all the difference.

I would suggest as supporters we must live and breathe for the club and each other rather than being the same as 'the rest'.

Who gives a crap? Did it really have that big an effect on your life that you need to crack the sads about it? Just close the browser window and leave the thread if you don't like it, it's not like it was a spam link for weight loss pills or something.

I think that when 300 supporters turn up to training which occurred a couple of weeks ago.....Things are not as bad as they seem......

Spot on. It's like there is a subsection here on the 'Land who are lurking behind their keyboards, ready to rubbish anybody who posts here for the first time. I'm a big boy and can take as good as I give but if you were a younger supporter, you would wonder what kind of club you are supporting.

I'm not trying to have a go at the OP, but honestly my reaction would've been to laugh and tell the culprit to [censored] off. I was unaware people took footy humour so personally.

Dawes especially was always going to be a target before he'd even worn the red and blue. The footy world is sceptical of him as the big off-season signing, and perhaps with good reason. It's no certainty that he can produce his 2010-11 form. We just have to hope that he can.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
