Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Wasn't Charlie Dixon one of the GC players we had a lot of trouble with when we played them in a practice match up there?

correct

Called. It.

I believe there's a good chance Dixon won't come good by Sunday from last weeks leg injury.

That's a big bonus especially given the form he's been in.

I heard it was a fracture in his arm but he's been playing with it for weeks.

Assuming Lynden Dunn plays on him, it would be interesting to see him test something like that out.

Really gotta respect a bloke like that who can play as well as he does with a pretty serious and painful injury like that, credit where credit's due i suppose :)

Round 1 in Rodan

Round 2 out Rodan

Round 3 in Rodan

Round 4 out Rodan

Round 5 in Rodan

Round 6 out Rodan

Round 7 in Rodan

And Neeld doesn't have issues. can't believe McLardy is letting this play out.

,

OHHHHHHHH i see a bit of the "old in and out" Thats the way to satisfaction What the hell is going on there

Somewhat of a surprise to see Sellar in the side.

I thought Davey might get a run given the lack of experience factor but perhaps the coach is really playing mind games with all of us.

Davey has played too many games, it doesn't fit the pick the least experienced team possible policy we seem to have.

absolutely no point playing Sellar

Why not blood Davis?

The only reason i can think of to play sellar with Dixon out is to stretch their defence, in which case Fitz would have been a much better option.

Selectors have lost the plot

Could Sellars inclusion mean one of Garland, Frawley or Tom Mc are carrying an injury??? Sellar's inclusion guarantees we have another Key Position defender in that case.

Also, it appears that Dunn will most likely play through the middle in a run with role from some of what Royal said in the team chat. So given Garland usually plays on one of the small forwards, maybe they wanted to have the extra height in the backline to give us an advantage for when they might do the long bomb into the forward line. We are fortunate enough that Frawley and Garland can play on bigs and smalls, so maybe frawley will pick up a mid-sized forward......

In reality, who the hell really knows, apart from the footy department.

Sellar can kick, Davis can't.

Sellar is genuine key position size, Davis isn't quite.

Sellar can back up ruck, Davis can't.

Seriously I don't think we've given Sellar enough of a chance as a defender to prove himself. Give him a run there, the worst thing that happens is he struggles a bit then we can move him forward and sub out a ruck man at 3/4 time to bring Kent on.

Sellar comes in as a tall forward, they prefer him to fitzpatrick for this week. I dont mind adding two talls, it adds balance to our forward line and you can see this is the structure neeld wants going forward two key forward talls, a goal kicking ruckman, a couple of defensive smalls and a marking midsize player, i see our forward line up

Tapscott Dawes Gawn

Howe Sellar Bail

back half of the year put Clark in there, the team is drilled on the set up.

if he comes in as a forward why didn't he or Pedersen play past week. I can't see the reasoning of going from zero key forwards to two all in one week. But mark Neeld and reasoning aren't really friends.

Get Clark (back up ruck) and Hogan in and that forward line works. But currently that forward line is much too tall considering the 3 talls aren't really threats.

the sellar inclusion for this week is why the bookies have got gold coast as favourites now.

a big body, can imagine why recruiters liked him hence going in the draft early. but he is only a big body, cannot do the fundamental things that are required of a big man. id say nev jetta would outmark sellar.

The bookies had us as favourites, they set the initial odds. Weight of money then changes those odds accordingly. Gold Coast were into favouritism before the final announcement of the teams. Punters obviously thought given the form of the two teams, and the injuries we have, that Gold Coast were over the odds and worthy of betting on. Sellar's inclusion would have no bearing whatsoever on GC being favourites.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
