Judging by the above post, you're acknowledging that last year, up to 40 of our players didn't 'buy in'. By the way, Grimes and Tom McDonald had reasonable years. So we're up to 4.

So in summary, it was Moloney and about another 40 odd players who possibly didn't 'buy in'. 15 of those 40 were traded out, were delisted or left of their own volition.

Get a grip mate, you turn every thread into an anti-Neeld diatribe, this has nothing to do with Neeld it's a thread about Moloney yet you manage to find a way to snipe the coach again. We can respect a former player at the same time as acknowledging his deficiencies but you seem to think every player who left us since Neeld came on was the second coming of Barassi. There's no logic to your arguments at all other than you hate Neeld so any decision he makes is by default incorrect. Brisbane didn't offer him anything near that. The paltry compensation we got from the AFL for both Rivers and Moloney was partly based on the contracts they were getting at their new clubs. Brisbane wasn't prepared to pay big money for Moloney because they know his shortcomings. Hence, we got SFA for him. Same with Rivers.

Beamer was always capable of performing against weaker clubs and not so good against the stronger clubs. Last year, he had the wrong attitude, wanted out and had ... ahem ... some issues. I don't miss him at all. The club has to move forward.

Changing clubs doesn't necessarily make you a better player as Ricky Petterd proved last night. I like the bloke but he still has troubles hitting the proverbial barn door.

Jones is a better player than Moloney. Brent had his deficiencies but he was easily better than our 3rd best clearance player. Instead of having 2 reasonable clearance players we've now only got one (right now)

Magner started the season quite well last year and won plenty of his own ball. Next thing, the coaching department tried to turn him into a tagger. Now he's back to being a rookie and his career is at the crossroads. Remember the threads we had about him last year?

'rjay', I'm a great believer in 'Do what you do, do well'. Some blokes are only good at one thing in footy and it's highly unlikely that you can change them. You can end up spending a lot of energy on a totally fruitless exercise. You can't turn the 'proverbial' into strawberry jam !!

We've got plenty on our list who could do a lot better in the midfield but for whatever reason they don't. There's a bit of talent there but they don't produce.

I agree with you on this 'Macca', so then it opens up the question of 'do you build you game plan around the team' or 'do you build the team to fit your plan'.

Being a first year coach I suspect, well more than expect Neeld took the later approach and totally deconstructed what had gone before. A senior coach wouldn't have been so gung ho.
