To answer a few of your questions.

Dawes kicked the first goal & moved ok in the first quarter. Starved a bit against the wind.

Spencer is playing and doing well in the ruck.

Strauss who was also named an emergency for the Demons, is playing well again and is pushing for promotion. Would be good if he could get the call up for the Carlton game, the club that he had that bad break against 2 years ago.

Nicholson is the emergency who flew to Brisbane with the Melbourne team.

Jack Fitzpatrick starring.

Casey has been very good this year in its third quarters and tonight was no exception.

Three quarter time: Casey Scorpions 13.8.86 to Williamstown 7.10.52. Fitzpatrick has four goals including three that quarter. Lynden Dunn starring down back and causing damage with a couple of long goals coming down the ground. James Magner in everything in the midfield.

The game's not over yet but I'd rather be in front, even against this wind.

See sawing emotions with the see sawing scores. I guess it's all about the wind advantage.

Thanks all for the score and twitter updates.

Go Scorps!

Maybe i jumped the gun a little with the whole jumping off a bridge thing, glad to hear he is okay, anyone got the scores?

I am afraid that was a one way ticket!

So pumped with Casey like I never have before (maybe because half the team contains young MFC players and they actually win!)

Is it to early to say the ins for next week - Dunn, Dawes, Kent and Strauss?

The thing i find the most pleasing about casey is when the senior players come back to casey they seem to play really well get their confidence right up and play well when they are recalled, it's exactly what you want from your reserves :)

Presuming Dunn is playing hbf he's sent a pretty obvious statement to watts. Play well tomorrow or you'll find Casey

Should have never been thrown into AFL straight away. He should have at least adjusted to VFL first (which I asume is higher standard than WAFL?)

Would have only made him doubt his ability.

he played sanfl. The standard isn't too much worse. And he out played Evans and others in preseason. Problem is club didnt expect to have him in 100 point debacles. In a winning afl side he'd still look ok

Wouldn't that be great! Seriously doubt it, glad to hear Fitz is stepping up.

Our VFL side is stocked with a lot of promising players.

not convinced Fitzy is one of them. He still drops too many marks then cleans up his mistake. Won't get away with that at afl. Even if he makes it he'll be up and down. Lets see

sanfl I'd say, & I agree... we went into the first game to young & way too inexperienced, with NO form on any board. selection panel???

Toumpas has had little impact

The kids only skinny, he will need 4 yrs to develop.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
