Anyone know anything about this bloke? some rumours going around he could take over presidency..

Too be honest I have never heard of them..

Ā

Another no namer

Hell NO

we cant afford no namers in any capacity

We need people with runs on the board in the AFL

How about George Freeman? Got things done.

Ā

I heard a similar reference to him this morning. Apparently he is an Insurance Broker and has links to MFC.

Now this is purely speculation. I wonder whether the link is Don McL. because he is in Insurance

Insurance broker - sh#t, sounds like the charismatic frontman we're after.

It could be worse. We could have an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Done a little bit more research

59 Peggy Wellington 60 Geoff Freeman 61 Stephen Bickford

He is a member of our Foundation Heroes

He was also on the board of AON who are the largest insurance broking firm in the World. The MD of AON is also a big Dees supporter.

Had his own company Freeman McMurrick which was one of the largest Australian owned insurance broking firms.

I don't doubt that McLardy and Freeman know each other through their respective businesses.

Pretty cashed up guy from what I understand.

Does he have any sporting background, Robbie?

As well guys is about to join the board.

Was all done a couple of weeks ago.

Even had a thread on it.

He was going be in charge of " stake holders and sponsors "

Obviously you all missed it

Our board is stacked with top quality successful people.

I don't see how replacing McLardy with someone similar makes no difference to me.

I see McLardy only growing with the tribulations we are suffering as long as he gets united support.

What we need is consistent and quality football advice to the board. If we can combine that with continued financial success and growth of the club we will get somewhere.

Pretty much the role of the board should be to keep making money and learn to spend it wisely. Our board can do the first of that, I'm not sure they can do the second part.

Went to St. Bedes with a bloke called Geoff Freeman, don't think it'd be him though

Well he's 65. So do the math and you'll know.

Don McLardy has said that he is in it for the long haul, we will see how this pans out.

Gee we used to have a guy who was president of a global ad agency and was a big Dees supporter. Seemed cashed up. What was his name???

Left us $5m in debt, hired McNamee without Board approval, didn't like going to rd 1 because we would get belted and he had better things to do and now mouths off about the club and how bad it was at every opportunity.

What was his name????

Oh yeah that's right. Paul Gardner. A complete disaster.

Ā

One of the CEO or Club President need to be a high profile, media savvy person, but not both of them. I'm OK with McLardy staying but only if we get a CEO with some urgency, passion and profile. If we get a CEO whose skills are more "behind the scenes", then move McLardy on and make that the high profile position.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.Ā

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
