Dear Damo,

Your team is [censored]

Your support is [censored]

Your administration is [censored]

Your club is [censored]

Your only saviour is the AFL

Rohan is a bloke I know and he has confided that he giggles when he writes a piece on 'the dees'

The above is from somebody that I used to know.

Be assured I have replied in the strongest possible fashion.

Anyone else battling with the mongrels today?

Growing up in the Essendon area all my life, going to primary school and secondary school, freinds of the family and a fair amount of freinds who barrack for the Bombers, i was expecting my Facebook and SMS to go ballistic...it was dead quiet.

For the first time i had respect for Essendon fans. It wasn't a win for them on Saturday night...it was a implosion of our club and they knew the difference.

I've had 3 Essendon fans coming up to me saying " I feel sorry for you today"..

Never ever thought i would hear that!

Still hate them though :)

Nupp just abject pity from friends and family. The wife was very understanding i relented and had a couple of soothing sherberts sat nightthus ending my no drink regime leading up to the trek.

Shes a Maggie. She humours me.

Others feel the pain. Strangely no one laughs. Its moved waypast that.

Lucky Theres so much more to life than footy. :)

What a sad excuse for a human being he is.

And if Connolly giggles, so what?

He might think we are crap, and he'd be right, but it's a childish response, and I'd be surprised if he said that.

He's written precious few articles on the dees in recent times anyway, and as a bombers supporter himself, I doubt he'd like us much at all.

It's tough to deal with but personally I would much rather cop it than receive pity from other fans.

Something about it just makes it feel more pathetic.

The filter I use for credible criticism is "are you a member of the club you barrack for"?

When the response is "what does that have to do with it", it makes me use swear words as i dont rate monkey gallery experts.

Those Essendon supporters that took sad joy in our poor performance on Saturday night did so with the knowledge that what's to come for them is far worse and far more frightening than just a poor team playing poorly. They run the risk of not being able to literally field a team. Thier players will run from their club and leave them far worse off than we are now.

They'll look back on Saturday night and remember how far they've fallen, and we'll offer them words of support and kindness, not because we won't want to rub it in, but because we are better quality people with more care for the game.

I've had a number of Essendon supporters come to my desk today at work to have a go about our club. They think they are so funny until I tell them to keep laughing when their players are all suspended for 2 year for drug use, they quickly stop smiling and go away

Ran into a Bomber mate earlier said that they've been there and they will again . New teams, lacking direction and confidence take time .

Just say "I'm Melbourne buddy ,proud of it,it's not your problem so mind your own drug business."

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
