Now that Casey has played and everything possible has been posted about the coach and admin, let's turn our attention to the players...

IN: Tappy, Bail, Jetta, Gawn, Kent

OUT: Sylvia, Gillies, Nicholson, Watts, Rodan

Gawn and Jamar to ruck half the quarter each and then swap to the goal square. Max has shown he can compete there and Jamar has kicked bags before when put at FF. Frees up Sellar to move to defence.

I agree with your sentiments on Gawn and Jamar but I want to give Gawn one more then bring him in against GWS (A Phil Hughes - Rob Quiney situation). Bail I assume they want to have another game to make sure he's right.

In: Tappy, Dunn (I assume they will bring him back), McKenzie

Out: Gillies, Rodan, Nicho.

I'd love to see Byrnes and Sylvia put on notice and let blease have a week in the Casey mids but I think they won't make that many changes.

Agree with all that, but I just wish we could also elevate Magner and Couch.

I have a plan... It may involve Gillies, Rodan, and a crowbar...

In a perfect world Gawn and Bail would get another week at Casey to settle in and Tappy would need to prove himself 2 weeks in a row, but we barrack for Melbourne so it's a far from perfect world!

The "deckchairs" cliche has never been more true than it is now. I can't think of a time in my life that I've cared less about who comes and goes.

Would like to see Kent get a game though.

In this case though, the Titanic has already sunk...

We've already got marginals on fitness. Clark was prematurely promoted but we can live with that. Trengove was not ready. Gawn could not be anywhere near ready. We are desperate but we cannot clutch at straws.

Why are you worried? You gave the Dees the chop yesterday.

I am giving Gillies one more week. I am partly blaming poor coaching, and poor matchup for round 2.

Gillies MUST be dropped this week.

Has been our worst player 2 weeks in a row.

A very shallow comment Bobby. If you had read the site carefully today ( you can read I presume) you would have noticed that I had put aside and got over last night's anger. If you are going to make aggressive comments make sure you have the full facts. Otherwise you risk looking like a DH - as you just did.

Would have thought saying someone can't read and looks like a dhead was more aggressive than CORRECTLY stating you had said you gave up on MFC.

Stuie, read my lips. My statement that "I'm out" was made in the emotional context of last night's fiasco. With a less emotional mood I recanted ( as have others I note) this afternoon.

My point - Bobby what's his name mouthed off without knowledge of the full facts.

I am aware you recanted.

However, what he said was true, you DID say that. You then reply with "hey that's aggressive you illiterate d#@khead!".... Is that ironic enough for ya?

Settle down Stuie - I've warned before about your blood pressure.

BTW I'd be obliged if you could show me where I made the above comment. Another bit of advice - once you use quotation marks make certain you are totally accurate.

Just a thought from left field

Why not leave the side as is ??

My reasoning ... we are coming up against West Coast and with our current form you would have to say it will be another [censored], as some said here it would be like shifting the chairs on the Titanic if we make some changes.

But I don't believe that any AFL player no matter how poorly they are playing can live with themselves knowing the results of the last two weeks and being a part of it.

So let them go out there Knowing we as supporters believe they are going to get a Flogging and we don't expect them to win.

But also make it Clear that after the game all the players will be required to do a run around the boundary in front of the Melbourne supporters to give them a chance to voice their feelings on their performance.

But here is the twist regardless of how bad they play we as supporters offer nothing but support to them and try to help lift them and their moral rather than bagging them all the time

As I said totally from left Field.

Probably a result of my current condition which involves a lot of banging of my head against the wall to see if I can make any sense out of this at all.

But I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels the same at least as far as the wall is concerned  .

Stuie, I don't need to look it up. It is OK to paraphrase in certain circumstances. However, you never use quotation makes when you paraphrase. Now that is enough lessons for you take in tonight.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
