Wow.

He was absolutely shattered in that video. You cannot question his commitment, and that's something positive at least.

By the way, has anyone noticed that this week's party-line catch-phrase is "It wasn't good enough." Last week it was "we didn't see this coming" (said by Jack Watts, Jack Grimes and Mark Neeld), and this week it's "It wasn't good enough" (said by Mark Neeld and Jack Grimes so far).

* What should happen is Neeld to take over the midfield coachs role for the week (he was meant to be the best at this caper whilst at Collingwood) and focus on nothing else.

* Neeld should delegate the rest of his duty's to Craig for the week.

* The Dee's should invite Dermie, Carey or Neitz to work with the forwards for the week (put them in charge and give our forwards the benefits of a positive experience learning from champions of the game - pretty sure our forward coaches are not people who commanded awe and respect on the footy field during ther playing careers)

* Rawlings to take the backline back to the basics of one on one defence (not zoning), teach them to practice treading on the heel of their opponent (figurately speaking, although I had a player do this to me literally once for the entire game, and it was probably the worst I ever played). Maybe involve Viney Senior to teach them toughness and possibly introduce a bit of nastiness.

* Royal should be sent back to Casey, to assist with their coach and ensure that all the players (casey listed players as well) are AFL ready

and the word "Rebuild" should never, ever be mentioned again!!!!! if you accept this as your objective then this is what you will play for, they should be going out with the attitude "WE WILL SHOW THEM, F#CK THEM, WE ARE THE BEST, WE WILL WIN, WE WILL WIN THE COMP" If this is the attituded then the results will follow. I have always found that even if you start with an unrealistic dream, that the more you focus on it, it will soon become a goal and then reality!

Give the players something to beleive in, not a gameplan, structures or performance measures; but a WIN and WINNING! It's something that will mean something to the entire list, and something that they will play for, it is what creates desire.

There are some excellent points here and I hope some of these kinds of options are being considered by the club. Obviously Neeld looks to be in a bad way so although its not considered the 'done thing' it just seems like Craigs level headedness and experience needs to take control...and Neeld needs to divert his attention to the mids. This would be a a good outcome for us withe roles better aligned to the skill sets.

Thanks, and this does not need to be seen as an excercise of losing or removing control from Neeld. In reality he should use this type of approach as a means for taking RESPONSIBILITY, clearly our midfield is struggling and needs help and it's an area he can make a difference!!!
