Training Photos - Monday, 4th February, 2013 @ Gosch’s Paddock

I wasn’t there for long today. Only around an hour. I got there at around 10.40 and they were into match drills rotating between three separate teams of blue, white and orange. After this they went back inside for 20 minutes at around 11.00am. They came back out and did some warm up drills followed by match simulation. I left after 10 minutes of the match sim, consequently the photos do not cover the full training session.

Today, to try and create a bit of variation I have included continuous shots that run in sequence. These sequences cover all three phases of the training, match drill, warm up and match sim.

Enjoy.

As usual, great work Triple6! Many thanks from someone a 1,000 kms away.

He has a very long lens :o

Some observations:

Tynan has really gained definition in contrast to last year.

Seems to be a lot of lovin going on in 118

Who are those boofs in 85

Those shots of Hogan bearing down - great - how would he be feeling being out with the big boys.

I too would be afraid if I had Jake Spencer next to me/after me - a monster with some very funny facial expressions.

All in all you are a very wonderful man/person 666. Great job.

Great pix.

Just an observation...interesting that some are still struggling with high tackles even though we have been working on going low. It's going to take time to break old habits for some players, others are showing some great tackling form.

Bloody fantastic photos S6S

Im the worlds worst photographer so really do appreciate them.

Ive said beforre the muscle structure seems to be evident which only real life or great photography can capture .

The other thing your shots convey to me is the enjoyment that seems on the faces of the players not directly involved in an exertion. This must be a good thing?

Can you tell me how the players pull up/ recover after the obvious intensity that your shots convey. Is the effort you capture sustained or is it just a short burst effort?

If the boys can match your effort and dedication we should be in for a great year

Both, The match drills and match simulation sessions are pretty intensive, requiring flat out repeat effort. The effort expended is fairly obvious at times but their level of fitness sees them recovering on short turn around and going again A bit like in a real match. During the match drills they are split into 3 teams with only 2 teams participating at any one time. The other team performs other drills when they are not involved. During both the match drills and match simulation they do employ a form of interchange with selected players swapping on and off the field. Because I have had my I in the view finder for a fair portion of the time. I haven't been able to observe whether this is controlled by the coaches or the players themselves.

Hope that gives you a bit of insight dpositive.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
