I'm optomistic about the year ahead finals would be an absolute dream but we aren't quiet ready yet so here are few of my wishes for 2013

1. Beat both Essendon and Richmond and finish higher than both! My misses is a Richmond nut and she gave me hell last year and that B@#ch Caro Wilson.

My Misses old Man Bombers nut gave me hell aswell and would love to see another year for the dons pulling hamstrings and promising much but bombing out!!

2. NO BELTINGS ABOVE 50 PINTS!!!

3 Jack Viney to tear it up in the midfield alongside Jimmy Toumpas hopefully in a ripper first season for them both!

4. Dawes and Clark starting to gel causing big problems for opposition backs!!!

I want to be able to say that I barrack for the Dees without people looking at me like I just told them I had a terminal disease.

Haha! I get the same reaction!

Please, please. please thrash Collingwood on QB.... and Carlton, Richmond, GWS, Essendon.

1 - A win against the Roos and Blues.

2 - I'd really like to see Watts and Trenners take the next step.

3 - Dawes and Clarke to strike fear in opposition defenses.

Dom Barry to have a Lewis Jetta like impact.

What, kick a record number of consecutive points?

I want Viney and Tapscott to be suspended for Rough Conduct.

A full season from Big Mitch.

A win against a genuine contender (not the bombers, although I want us to win that one too).

To finish in the upper portion of the lower half.

To see Watts build on the patch of great form he had last year and show it for the whole season.

To see Fitzpatrick push for the third tall forward spot and sneak some games.

To see gametime from all of our first year players.

My wish list:

Sylvia to play to his potential every game.

Finish 8th(magically)-11th

At least 9 wins

Mitch Clarke 20 games, 60+ goals

Dawes played in position, 60+ goals

Jack Viney, nab rising star

No loss greater than 7 goals

Wouldn't Pedersen have dibs on 3rd tall? And I rate Cam as highly as Clark and Dawes, not as many games on the board (or media attention) but has proven himself in the ones he's played.

I agree with you in wanting to see Fitzpatrick get more opportunities, 3 goals from 3 games is a nice start.

The club to play the entire season in a way that earns the respect of all other teams in the competition, and which builds genuine momentum for a top 6 finish in 2014.

You had me until the last five words RB and then I knew you were dreaming like the rest of us mate.

Don't be sad we all suffer it to some extent.

I would be happy with a season like the Tiges in 2012. Some very goog wins with some very competative games against the top teams. I'd be happy to dominate large portions of games against the Hawks, Pies, Meth Coast, Cats etc etc. Honerable losses to the elite means we are exprience and confidence away from winning games against them in the VERY near future.

\We need to win 75% of games against last years bottom 6 team too

A win in Perth so I can finally go to work and feed it into these parochial, sand-groping desparado's.

Limited myself to only 2 wishes - not too much to ask, surely.

Number two is a small number but one of them is an extremely large ask.

Someone famous once said if you take away my dreams I have nothing left!

So on that basis sixth spot is a possibility.

8 to 12 wins and i will be happy.

Clark to be ok and continue his great form of last year.

One of the new kids to star...Viney, Toumpas or Barry.

  • Positive press for a change

Earn some respect back from opposition teams and commentators

Be shown the game plan we want to play which is effective

beat GWS, Suns, Bulldogs, Power and St Kilda (the teams we should)

BE COMPETITIVE

Agree,Cam Pederson is a good footballer.

He can play defensively or in the forward line.

I'm really happy the Demons went for him.Hopefully he becomes a regular.

And ever since 2000 I wanted David Rodan after watching his TAC cup form in the GF against Ess.He was a star then & is still a good footballer.

Its like the Demons have been reading my mind with recruits of late! I also really wanted Mitch Clark & whammo here he is!

I want the Demons to get on a roll from round 1 win about five on the trott and be competitive & if not beat good sides!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
